It's kinda sad to be watching news and seeing a shot of a store that I go to everyday that is flooded... and then thinking "oh no... I forgot to pick up bread yesterday.... umm..." o_O;

Seepage in levees is pretty common, especially with the level of water you guys are getting. Also, according to that article, the river hasn't been rising since 3:30 PM EST, which is good. Certainly not something to totally brush off, but the situation seems manageable.

UNLESS THE NEWS MEDIA IS JUST TRYING TO COMFORT YOU.

Yeah, well, when you watch the tv version of this, it's a lot more scary. No, it's an actual... "hole" or something. The water was gushing up. They are bringing in trucks of sandbags to try to block things off some while they try to figure out what's going on and if it's something super serious.

And it "hasn't risen significantly". It's suppose to crest at 40.8 on a levee system built for 41. o_O;;

These numbers have been pretty consistent for half of the day so hopefully nothing changes for the worst in that area.
