As you may have noticed in the Recent Purchases topic, I happen to have two copies of Moribito, and two copies of Macross Plus. So, to celebrate my acquisition of the BD edition of Moribito, and my mistake of buying Macross Plus twice, I'm going to give away the following:
Moribito Complete Collection (DVD) (8 discs in 1 box, unused)
Macross Plus The Collection (DVD) (4 discs in 2 boxes, in 1 sleeve, still in shrinkwrap)
To participate, all you have to do is reply to this message or send me a PM. Please state which of the two (or both) you would like to receive. I will pick two (or one) lucky winner(s) and send them the goods (yes, I'll pay the shipping too).

Never seen Moribito, though I've heard of it in name only. Not interested in Macross. I dunno. I would say to put me down for Moribito, but I think someone else might enjoy it far more than I would. I'm afraid I would get it and totally dislike it.
So... I'll take it if there's no one else interested. Just Moribito. Macross should definitely have a better home than with me.

You know, I'm actually not familiar with either of those. What kinda shows are they?

Oy, where do I begin, describing Moribito.
That should give you an introduction.
The series' main character is Balsa, a spear-wielding bodyguard. She travels around trying to atone for her past by saving lives. When she saves Chagum, second prince of Yogo, he turns out to be more than meets the eye. His father the emperor wants him dead because of the danger to the empire he represents. His mother asks Balsa to protect him. Balsa and Chagum flee and hide from the imperial assassins. On their journey, more comes to light about Chagum's condition, the country's history, and Balsa's past.
This 26 episode series is notable for its high quality, both in story-telling and visually (the latter is why I bought the BDs). I wish I could give all of you a copy of Moribito, because it's totally awesome and everyone should watch it.
Macross Plus is what I consider the second entry in the Macross franchise (not counting the movie re-make of SDF Macross and the non-canon Macross II). It's a short OVA of four episodes, set some time after humanity's exodus from Earth at the end of the first series. It has all of the Macross staple ingredients: transforming mecha, an idol singer, a love triangle, and the power of song.
This OVA is notable for being one of the first anime to combine cel art and digital animation. Back in the day (1994), it was considered visually outstanding. Nowadays it's been overtaken by fully digital/HD anime in visual quality, but it still holds up pretty well even now. Story-wise it is what it is, a shorter entry in a larger franchise. That's not to say Macross Plus is bad or anything, but it doesn't have the space to develop characters and story as much as the long entries in the franchise. For Macross fans (and everyone should be one), this is not to be missed. For casual viewers (who really should watch everything Macross), it's an interesting piece (it can be watched stand-alone) that is worth watching even if only for hysterical raisins.
So, shall I enter you and Maxine in the lucky draw then? The more the merrier.

Hrrrm, go ahead, but I think my original opinion still stands. If someone comes along that acts like they want it more than me or Trif here, throw my name out. I'd rather they got it and know that it was ENJOYED. I could probably get it off Netflix to watch or something.
Again, Moribito only. I will definitely not like Macross.
