Edit: If that's to calling it fake, I'll expand. It reads a bit ... well, like a Lifetime Original's adaptation of a feel good story of the year about following your heart: Gamer's Edition. And I still find it weird with the whole "You didn't think I noticed" next to the "ruffled his hair" and all. It feels sensationalized.
If it did happen, I'm behind the whole thing (minus Mirror's Edge for consoles; the fuck son?) but ... it's hard to read it and not have it feel awfully contrived.

In my opinion, purple is a neutral color. Blue for boys, red for girls, usually. Mix them up and you get purple.
