Banks , schools, and government offices close on the third monday in February off as President's Day, however. Most other people still have to work.

Ah, I forgot to inform y'all of my week-long absence. So, yeah, if you missed me, that's because I was AFK for a week, vacationing in Germany (near Trier or Belgium, for the curious) with my parents, sister and bro-in-law (and the dog of course), without wifi access.

It feels like we're on to a nice little tradition, doing this every few years. It'll be even more fun with a little kid and a dog. Yes, my sis is officially pregnant (she has been for a few weeks already of course, but now there's sonographic evidence too), so I'm going to be an aunt

Unfortunately, I was rather under the weather for most of the week, so my resolution to participate more in outdoors activities went unfulfilled. Next time I'll have to insist on a warmer place or time of year. I just don't handle cold well. Temperatures below 10°C make me want to hibernate.

I've been noticing search-engines not respecting citationmarks recently. Google too.

Throughout the past few days, I have noticed the same. (Which is only slightly irritating, and by that I mean maddening. I have papers to write dag-nabbit!)
