I just realized I've been a gamer for 20 years. T_T I feel ancient.

20 years? *whistle* I've been playing video games for... about 17 years now. Wow, another year and my gamerdom will be legal.

Yeah, pretty sure I started when I was five or six with Super Mario Bros and Legend of Zelda and some shooting game with really ugly bad guys in windows. And of course Duck Hunt. The NES was my stepdad's, and I remember getting a Sega Genesis around 6 or 7 for my birthday (though I think it was half because Dad wanted one too).

Pretty sure the first time I ever played a video game was while I was dying in the hospital at age 5. (I, uh, got better.) I want to say it was some Ghostbusters game, but I know it was on a Gameboy, and the first Gameboy game I remember playing was Gargoyle's Quest.

Some parents seem to think that M stands for "Mmmm... yeah, this should be fine for your 12-year-old."

First game I played was Super Mario Sunshine on my younger cousin's Gamecube when I was 7 or 8. First console I owned was a Gameboy Advance SP at the age of 10. First game I beat was Sonic Advance 3 when I was 12. Now I'm making up for lost time by playing all day erry day.

Also, if this avatar is so relevant now, why is this "mask" not keeping the pain at bay?

My first video game related memory is getting my old silver GBA and Pokémon Ruby for Christmas one year, and then playing it for at least five hours, though I'm sure I'd played something before then.

Fuck, my first console was a Gamecube, and my first non Nintendo console was a PS2.

My first gaming I did on a PC (XT/8088, in 1988). Some simple text mode games in Basic, King's Quest 3, Leisure Suit Larry 1. They helped me learn English. My first non-PC games were emulated SNES ones, around 2005/6. My first handheld (a DSlite) I got in 2007.
