There were more options than Obama and Romney, you know. Voting for one of those guys would have more effectively made a statement. As it is, they don't know WHY you didn't vote. Just that you didn't.

Honestly the system can never REALLY fail because of the president. The president has pretty minimal power in the United States. The problem during the Obama presidency has been congress. During the first 2 years the Democrats were in a honeymoon phase and didn't act fast enough, and in the 2nd 2 years the republicans were committed to obstructionism so nothing was accomplished at all. If anything a re-election invalidates the attempt to obstruct the Obama presidency, making it more likely that things will actually change. A common problem for Americans is realizing that the executive branch doesn't have a tremendous amount of power. So blaming Obama (or any president, certainly Bush caught a lot of blame) for a failed system is a little tough, when you consider that he cannot create law, which is the governing force in the country.

You get other parties into power by building a base first. I-wanna-be-the-president is going to be taken seriously if you're already the governor. And more importantly, if people know you're the governor, and like your work as the governor.

As for "both sides are bad", well duh, they're politicians. How bad is each one?

And I'm under the impression that there's lots of local stuff usamericans get to vote on.

Myeh, don't give a damn enough to care about the above posts. Politicians are all corrupt assholes and I'm not going to bother to find a place to vote just to hopefully vote for gay rights that may or may not appear on the ballot. ... That and no one in my family has ever voted and I don't even have a CLUE where to go or what to do or what does appear on those ballots. I'd probably be more inclined to do it if I had someone to walk me through the process standing beside me or something. <_<; I'm a clueless newbie.

Edit: You know, after re-reading this above top post... I think I suddenly realized another bias and prejudice that has probably been instilled in me by my family. .... And you know... I seriously do care more than that first sentence does suggest. ....

In happier news that I actually care about :3
YAY! The template of the new design is complete. Still quite a bit of work to do but at least I feel like the structure is in place and complete. Yay! ^_^ I love doing this stuff. It makes me laugh that I sit back and remember that it was an asshole being a jerk to me that encouraged me to continue doing this. That and kewl friends like Starfe that put up with me while I was learning and putting up with my inane requests *hugs Starfe*

...I'm being oddly nostalgic tonight.

? Hrrrm? Who?

Oh, no. I'm referring to back when I was 14 and just learning how to code websites. ^_^ At the time it was just a little pasttime. I was really in love with this one site and was a frequent poster in his forums. I created a site that was very similar to his but with several major differences and, let's face it, my codes couldn't compare to his. But I was so proud of myself that I decided to show it off. I can understand a negative reaction, however, what the guy and the rest of the community did after was nothing more than vicious trolling until I gave up and left the community in tears.

I remember "no skill in coding" "would never create anything worthwhile" "was not going anywhere in webdesign"

Words like that.

Meh. Told you, I was just being nostalgic last night and with it came some pretty bad memories. :3 But...

Meh, fuck him. ^_^ The only thing he did was piss me off so much that I continued my website with the goal of surpassing and being better than him. Think I did that. He didn't last more than a few years. My Zelda site last for about 10 years and this one is, what? 5 years?

And I have a fantastic community. You guys are awesome and I can't thank you enough for sticking around and putting up with me and enjoying everything.

As for, whoever that was... I can't remember. But, considering that this version of the website was created when I was just learning CSS - I think I did pretty damn good. Hopefully the coding I am creating is much better and will not get any insults. Though, seriously, trolls will be trolls *shrugs*. And my GOD I've put up with some trolls throughout my many years. x_x It just makes me more grateful that this community is just so awesome.

Seriously, though, as I'm making the new website, if you spot anything in my codes or anything else that you think should be changed, let me know. I won't lie. I'm still learning and have a LOT of learning ahead of me.

Meh... I think of the guy every once in a while. Some hates just don't die. <_<; Wish I could get over it, but sometimes his words do kinda come back to haunt me. x_x

I know this is kind of silly and beside the point, but the two tastiest pizzas I've EVER had were gluten-free. Granted, they were both made from scratch, but still! They tasted amazing.

Anyway, don't mind me. ^ 3^;;;

You think Texas would have learned after the last two times.

I also find it funny that someone would start a petition to secede, get only 0.1% of the population to agree to it, and then submit said petition to the federal government instead of the state government.
