Never watched Arietty, but I'll correct that mistake, same thing with ALL Ghibli movies.
By the way I had a great time watching The Wind Rises, this movie has so many qualities, whether it comes to the dubbing (in Japanese), the animation or the story (the pace was confusing but at least I knew where the plot was going).

Oh shit. Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead this morning in his home (of suspected heroin OD.) I liked him.
I wonder what this means for Mockingjay (Hunger Games). Apparently most of his shooting was complete, but he still had about a week on set left. Hrm.

I watched The Woman because my room mates had it on, it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. You could tell the writer had ideas for a story but never bothered to come up with character motovation. People just did things for no reason. Lots of gore and torture, too. Not sure why I watched all of it, or what happened during the ending. The whole movie lacked motivations for characters doing things, but the ending was just completely random and awful.
Still better than the 2003 Hulk.

Sometimes a movie is like a train wreck you just can't look away from.

ok, the wind rises eventually came out, and it's very long, very sad, and very good
but i almost started crying as soon as the blue totoro appeared on screen, and at the beautiful backgrounds going by at the end, knowing it was the last i'd ever see such things from a miyazaki film

So I'm watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the first real time. I've seen a few clips here and there in the past but never really attempted to pay much attention...
I am crushing pretty hard on that Giles guy. His first name is RUPERT, guys.

It's funny you should say that, as I was actually considering starting a re-watch of Buffy/Angel this afternoon. I've tried a few times before, but these days I can never seem to get all the way through. The last arc of Buffy is so bad I struggle to make myself watch it and my OCD won't allow me to re-watch Angel before a complete run of Buffy.
For these reasons I have only seen Buffy in its entirety twice and Angel three times (I got Angel first, it's what convinced me to give Buffy a proper go in the first place).
Also, I now have FF posts, yay!

I need everyone here to start watching Continuum. It's awesome and I love it and I want people to geek out with me.
That is all.

[dramatic voice] It's a Canadian sci-fi show about a cop and a group of terrorists from 2077 who get sent back in time! She's trying to track 'em down before they start sewing the seeds of rebellion decades earlier than they should be able to... but the line between good and evil gets blurrier and BLURRIER as you realize the terrorists are fighting against a truly bad corporate congress, so even though their methods need some work (blowing up buildings, killing hundreds of innocents) you find yourself understanding their cause... Lots of fascinating characters and time travel brain twisters and the soundtrack is so good I may or may not have added every available track to a .
The first season runs much like a police procedural, but as the plot moves forward in seasons 2 and 3 things get crazier and better and better.
The first two seasons are on Netflix, last time I checked. I marathoned through the whole thing in a few weeks. <_<; I'll probably end up owning it on DVD if it doesn't stay on Netflix forever. One of the best things about it is that the writers actually have the story planned for 7-10 seasons, versus the heaping piles of shows that just meander aimlessly until the writing suffers enough that interest wanes and it simply doesn't get renewed again.

Enjoy all four seasons of it!
As far as summer movies go, I wouldn't recommend Transformers 4 or Lucy, but I would most certainly recommend Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. They cut out most of the heartwarming bits from Rise of the Planet of the Apes and made the whole thing awesome post-apocalyptic masterpiece.

The live action Transformers movies have been pretty awful from the get go.
I just watched Bon Cop, Bad Cop. I liked it pretty well.
