You could always try something from ABA Games (freeware). I have rRootage and it starts off in between easy and medium, but progresses at a somewhat steady rate to hard. The way the levels are set up, you may need memorization at some points, although some levels (to be more specific, the [Letter]R ones) have random bullet patterns.

Basically, it's just a bunch of boss fights. There are four modes that affect how the ship works.

I'll probably hold off on the fighters, what with BlazBlue and all to fill that need for me. Well, I'll pick up 3 at random (and by random I mean IN, PCB, and EoSD) and give them a whirl and see if I like them enough to start importing them.

I'd like to note my complete stupid moment of not checking Himeya for it when I placed my Umineko order. What the fuck dur.

If I had to pick three Touhou games to play, I would've picked the exact same ones XD

Also, for EoSD, there are a few patches/mods that you might be interested in:
- Hitbox Patch (allows you to actually see the hitbox in EoSD).
- Re-texture pack (upgraded textures for pretty much everything in the game).

Oh, maybe now would be a good time to mention that MOST of the games have been translated XD

Off the top of my head, UFO and IaMP haven't been translated, with SWR having (as far as I know) a partial translation with just the weather effects translated.

..... Scy, I wanna make this VERY clear right off the bat. While Zeta enjoys playing EoSD - I DON'T.

So, don't let the.... crappiness.... of EoSD influence your decision to play the others. ^_^; But, maybe you will like it.

Meh, while EoSD's controls feel slightly dated when compared to the other games, it (especially it's soundtrack) remains one of the most popular in the series.

^_^; My problem is, I get confused really easy and then I get impatient. So, I get sloppy REALLY fast and do some VERY DAMN STUPID things. The worst part is, I know the actions I've taken are stupid the moment that I do them. x_x

:3 But, I kinda don't care. I have fun playing them. I'll never get up to the Lunatic levels, but I'd at least like to get off of Easy Mode. >_>;

Completed a 2cc normal run on IN, choosing Path A since by the time I defeated Reisen I only had one life left (and I started with full 7 lives). So, I knew there was no way in hell I was going to be able to defeat Kagura, though I'm still under the impression that Eirin is harder than Kagura... but at least she allows you to use a continue.

Considering I haven't played in about a year, I think a 2cc win against Eirin is pretty damn good. ^_^;
