<_< Kino, while this is a discussion on Greek/Roman mythology, I'm talking about the pantheon of gods in which gods like Zeus and Hera reside as well as the Titans and so forth. The Lares, I'm aware of, are part of a the Roman religion pre-Greek-theft in which the Romans believed in something that essentially boiled down to something that could be compared to Irish folklore. "There's a spirit/deity in everything". Lares are a part of this. Then they began stealing Greek ideologies and adopted them into their own society, but you're right - this belief system was in tandem with the one they stole and it never disappeared.
^_^ I confess, this is the sum of my knowledge in that respect and could be faulty, but you're right. They are a part of Roman Mythology, but it's not a part of the god pantheon that I'm interesting in re-writing and discussing.

Hestia? I remember two gods were about to go to war over her, so she decided to become a virgin goddess. Zeus repayed her by giving her the keys to Olympus and saying, "Yeah, keep it clean for us."
I believe there was another myth involving Priapus attempted to rape her while she was asleep, but there's another version involving Lotis. I believe the Lotis one is Greek in origin, while the Hestia one was Roman.
Kino, feel free to viciously tear this post apart.

Oh, I'm completely aware that your focus is on the Olympians and their narrative, I was just tangentially discussing the differences between Greek and Roman religion/mythology as practiced in that era... ^__^;; This is what happens when I latch on to something I find fascinating... >__>
;__; I really want to write, but I'm torn over what to write.

<shrug> Fair enough.
Multiple jumping back and forth can work very well. Like in the Time Travelers Wife, for example. Or the movie, Memento. I love a book to challenge my intellect. But then, I play Etrian because I enjoy the planning, strategy and number crunching, so meh.
It's been awhile since I did the 'ol Lewis Carrol, (studied it in part for my dissertation, LOL). But yeah, I vaguely remember that.
Anyway, just throwing bones for you to pick. I know very well what its like to have nobody criticise your work or scan it and go 'meh'.
