Let me see if I can explain myself now that I'm a little more... less aggressive than I was last night. I feel that I should drop this but then again I think I deserve a chance to defend myself and also clear up any offenses that might have occurred.

My initial post was not about "gays and lesbians" so much as it was about "this topic AGAIN". Nor was it solely directed at you, OB, and you seem to still take my final post offensively.

It was not about gays or lesbians. It could have been zombies or tales of fuzzy kittens. I just feel that as a group all of you seem to write pretty much the same topics and as a group my comment was - can someone try to write something different. I am really tired of reading through yet another synopsis of a tale that uses gay/lesbian as a theme or dramatic role. I get that it's probably a dear topic to some of you and I was not saying that you shouldn't write EVER on it, but, I would like to see other topics discussed here.

It seems like only two or three of us tries something that is different than the majority. My post, poorly written and very selfishly centered on me, was really an attempt at pointing out that I would like to see other's trying different story threads. As I was trying to get out last night, I think if I randomly visited a page in this topic I would more than likely find another synopsis written on gays or lesbians. Again, it's not the content. It doesn't bother or offend me, hardly, and I think they are wonderful and creative ideas, but I also feel that you guys (collectively) are stuck in a rut and I'm rather tired of the same thing being repeated.

I was angry last night and I sincerely apologize for that. After going through the posts, I have to thank Scy who really did seem to have a firm grasp on my meaning even if I didn't catch it at the time or he didn't think so. He was saying something very similar to what I'm saying and even most of the other stuff in his posts I agree with.

Sorry again for last night and let's just move on. OB, you can't expect me to be perfect and I hope you don't seriously take offense at me.

Honestly, I still don't personally feel your complaint is entirely justified, and if I'm being more honest, I feel like there's a degree of unaddressed homophobia (which in this context I am using as a blanket term for LGBT related discomfort) behind why you feel it. That's just my take on it. I'm not gonna press it or hold it against you, nor am I gonna dwell on it. It's not like it's a massive character flaw for you. You just don't seem to be getting how what you said would offend someone-- gays and lesbians are not like zombies or kittens. It's not a plot device or a character archetype, it's a type of person. I will continue to have a problem with that position no matter how you rephrase it, although I will not let it develop into some big personal thing.

Can I forgive you for feeling angry? Sure. I already said that I could and that I will. Did I take offense at the last comment? Certainly. Is that a big deal? Not really. You said something that didn't sit well with me, you didn't shoot my cat or spit in my face or anything. It's not a huge deal and it's not worth angsting over. I said very clearly I never expected you to be perfect- and as for moving on, the thread seems to have done that some time ago- you DID bring this back up.

I address all this so my own position on it is clear, but I'm not going to hash it out here any longer. I posted my AIM name, and if you really need to talk this out further, there it is. Meanwhile, there are no hard feelings if that is what you were concerned about- at least from my end. I can't speak for anyone else.

anyway, back to the topic of writing;

Why is it I can't ever seem to get any writing done in my own home? I go to a coffee shop or do it while I am on call in the staff room at work, and that shit just FLOWS. I sit at my desk in my own house and I can't get so much as a few drips-- and that's if I somehow manage to keep myself off Facebook.
