I usually hand-write this type of stuff. I have folders and folders of story planning information. If I'm stuck on a story I'll just grab a sheet of loose paper and start taking notes, drawing diagrams, etc. in a weird hatched up way that only really makes sense to me.

But I'll share of the few planning pages I do have typed, if you care to see what my thought processes look like when I'm character/world/story building. Like I said, I very rarely do this typed. I have symbols, shorthand, and a note-taking structure that I like to use.

Here's a ton of stuff from when I was wanting to do a vampire story, before I and the rest of the world became aware of Twilight.

Vampire story outline (Heero/Duo):

Heero – cop
Duo – vampire

set up; Heero busts a drug deal, ends in chase. Duo (the buyer) saves.


Heero: decent rookie cop. Was just on patrol and happened to see.
-Liked at the department. Quiet, but orderly, polite, and tough. Dead shot.
-Orphan. Wanted to save lives, but isn't good with blood. (couldn’t be a doctor)
-Parents well-to-do, Heero gets access to trust fund at 18 and moves to NYC.
-Floated around foster homes, difficult first few years before he settled on his goal
-Parents died in a house fire, Heero age twelve. Heero on school trip at time.
23, first year in department.


Duo: self-hating vampire. Drug “addict.”
Since he's a vampire, can't be killed by drugs. Does anything and everything.
-sort of pathetic, broken in a sense. Pale, black, bruised eyes. Iris a dull burgundy. (Bright red after having eaten. Can wear blue colored contacts to blend in, making eyes purple.)
-thrill seeker, drives a fast motorcycle. Likes bridge-jumping, cliff-diving, and skiing. Bit suicidal.
Heero: skiing?
Duo: There's some crazy long nights in Scandiniavia. And skiing's way dangerous! I can't imagine how humans survive it. Your fragile little bones and soft squishy flesh. The trees alone should kill you.
Tries to only kill really bad humans, but hates doing it. Doesn't want to kill anyone.
Likes humans, likes living in the present. Most vampires stay under the radar.
Origin; Scottish-born, Priest. Henry VII 1536-41 Dissolution of Monasteries
Only 20 at death. Church burned, he fled into the woods. Was attacked, blacked out. Remembers only pain, misery, and unquenchable thirst. “Woke” some months later, alleyway in Paris hunched over a dead man, blood in mouth and on hands, clothes.
-Stayed in Europe until the late 19th century, immigrated to SF in time for 1906 Earthquake.

Vampire rules:
Most legends untrue; Duo has a reflection, wears a cross, is fine with garlic, etc.
Sunlight - uncomfortable to eyes. Prefers dark sunglasses and hooded sweatshirts despite heat (Vampire, so, unaffected [no sweat] but still uncomfortable) Slow and sleepy in the day, loses most super-attributes. Doesn’t look quite right in the sunlight to humans, highlights his unnatural-ness. (Most humans uncomfortable around him anyway, except those few who are ‘drawn’ to him)
Blood – Animals don’t quite work (requires much higher doses more frequently, tastes foul/rotten and causes a loss of coordination, jitters.) Duo self medicates but also just enjoys the rush. Duo survives on rats punctuated with ‘bad’ people when he can get them.
Feeding from humans/vampire conversion (???)

Quatre: Executive vampire
Young, brilliant head of a medical technologies company, among others. Invents a synthetic blood tablet that dissolves in drinks (including alcohol) but most commonly water. Pill can also be taken dry, but with less satisfying effects. (Physiologically the thirst is sated. Although vampire will still feel thirsty, they do not weaken or feel compelled to drink)
Has numerous bodyguards and security agents for appearances and practical concerns. Bit of recluse.
(Trowa? And how’s he end up with Heero and Duo? Origin?)

Eldest and only son of a boyar; three younger sisters.
Massacre of Novgorod 1570 by Ivan IV (the Terrible) (Yuri’s 15)
Kenai peninsula, Alaska, colony at Kasilof of survivors 1571 (Yuri is 16)
Fate unknown of colonists. 31 houses recovered in archaeology
(related to vampire. Possibly he destroyed them or was battling a vamp who was. Somehow gets turned anyway. ~17 yrs old.)
He is compelled to find the vampire who turned him; wants nothing more than to kill him.

Stupid Twilight ruined everything.

And that's all I have typed as far as planning is concerned, besides some random research notes and the opening to many, many abandoned stories. Poor abandoned stories.
