I know of mesquite, though I've never tasted it. It's the wood used for barbecue, which gives a special flavor to the food.

I've had salt and pepper chips a few times, and they rock. For a potato chip, that is. Usually though they're the thick ones that have a more "homestyle" rustic nuance to them that your standard Lay's

How do y'all feel about those thicker handcooked/kettle style chips? I think they're so-so.

They're kinda bad, most of the time. Always taste off.
