In regards to Higurashi, it was about half a year ago (12/15/09, I think?).
That said ... it's pretty much a hack job (though they did improve the music~). I think the translation projects that were in the works earlier are still going on but not sure. I know Onikaksuhi-hen was but I think that's all so far. Think they took time off to give the official release some time to garner sales or something.
And Umineko and Higurashi are both mindfuck shockhorror mysteries though Umineko is far more of a mystery than Higurashi (mostly just chalked up to it technically being Ryukishi's like 13th story or something ridiculous so he has more experience at actually confusing people).
Plus, Higurashi's big "huhwhat" simplifies the plot a hell of a lot. Umineko's structure lends itself better to "the more you find out, the less you know" so we learn something new each game but end up deeper in the web with each new reveal.
For example, the first game is the "easiest" difficulty. It's the easiest of any of the games to provide a logical solution for. The problem is, however, that this ease opens itself to multiple logical solutions. It becomes that much harder to find the "correct" solution because it's so open to multiple theories solving it without anything being "wrong."
Higurashi is appropriate for "all ages?" That's cute.

I recently just finished up Game 3. My mind is STILL fucking REELING after the damn final red truths. o_O; I... don't remember the anime version being this awesome or so fucking :O ... "Huh what?"
I'm not ready yet to chat about it, but I'm definitely interested to hear your guys' theories for... lack of my own T-T (at least where Nanjo is concerned).

Okay!
This theory's the most accepted one, I believe. The funny thing is, with such a thick web of red, the answer might be hard to figure out, but it's usually the only one that makes sense. In other words, the red truth is self-limiting.
Anyway, here's the theory: Either Rudolf, Hideyoshi, Kyrie, Natsuhi, Krauss, or George faked their death, or were merely seriously wounded. They killed Nanjo, then died soon afterward, either by suicide or from their wounds.
Here's the list of deaths in red:
Kinzo is dead
Krauss is dead
Natsuhi is dead
Hideyoshi is dead
George is dead
Rudolf is dead
Kyrie is dead
Rosa is dead
Maria is dead
Genji is dead
Shannon is dead
Kanon is dead
Gohda is dead
Kumasawa is dead
Nanjo is dead
The 15 people mentioned are dead
Battler is alive
Eva is alive
Jessica is alive
Color-coded for your convenience. While this at first glance seems to rule out the possibility of a non-magical cause of death, a closer look shows that at the time this red is referring to, Nanjo is dead. In other words, the red refers to an unspecified point in time in between Nanjo's death and Battler's death.
Earlier on, we had red truth confirming the deaths of Kanon, Shannon, Kinzo, Genji, Gohda, and Kumasawa for the 1st Twilight, and Rosa and Maria for the 2nd Twilight, so none of them could have killed Nanjo.
There were, however, no red truths confirming the deaths of Kyrie, Rudolf, Hideyoshi, Natsuhi, Krauss, or George.
In other words, up to the point in time specified by the web of red, any of these six people could have been alive, and able to kill Nanjo.
I find it most likely that Rudolf, Hideyoshi, or Kyrie was faking, since this allows them to just go around the island killing at will (strangling Krauss/Natsuhi and killing George), but that's just my opinion. I may need to check the specifics on George's death, though.
Incidentally, if you believe this theory, it also proves Nanjo is a liar. For every one of the six people that could have killed him, he pronounced them dead. It's a bit ironic once you think about it.
...I felt smart typing that.

I'm writing down ALL red truths. :3 So, yeah, I've got these. (and marked in "green" I'm putting the stuff that isn't repeated. != if it was just not spoken or !! if Beatrice was really ANGST about not repeating it). I also have the definition of "closed room"
That's why I didn't want to respond yet 'cuz I wanted to go through the truths and find the inconsitencies.
My theories I can't test yet until I go through
- One of the "dead" was not completely dead. Became conscious, wandered out, found Nanjo (and may even be a killer), killed him, and died again. (But I think this contradicts a red truth)
- Nanjo fought this person who's suppose to be dead, and kills, but not before killed himself
- Or... the possibility that someone is dead at the start of the game, and a 19th HUMAN enters the game, pretends to be this dead person, and cannot be included in any red truths. But I don't like this theory because I think it's too convenient and a form of running away. I want to keep this in the family.
There's a list of red truths here:
http://umineko.wikia.com/wiki/Red_Truth
Just be careful scrolling down if you go there, since it has the red from every episode.

Uh ... two of the three (all three counting the second since it's just restating the first) are pretty much commonly accepted theories. Well, the third one being "commonly accepted" may be a stretch but it's a theory.
Third is just written a bit wrong for the theory that proposes the 19th (18th ... 17th ... goddamnit) person. And it's missing the loophole that allows the existence of this person.
There's some important life lessons in those games though! Totally appropriate for the age brackets.
Higurashi: oshit, be paranoid of everyone. At all times. It'll save your life. That or friendship beats everything, even timeloops, cults, mass murder, and general jackassery.
Also, buy a cleaver.
School Days: Fucking everything that moves in High School is win/win unless you totally suck at doing it right.
Also, buy a cleaver.
They removed the "totallyawesomesexscenes!" from KiraKira so School Days without them would probably be All Ages appropriate too~

@Scy:
What do you mean by the red about Ep 5's 1st Twilight (other than Krauss)? Wasn't that red referring to the end of the second day, when everyone should be dead?
