Type-Moon really knows how to make the reader feel for each and every character in their works, especially in the more "dramatic" relationship-changing scenes (and no, I don't necessarily mean the H-stuff).
Meyers, however.......hollow characters & bland descriptions of everything = Twilight standard practice.
I don't think anyone needs to be qualified to give an opinion...

I did the calculations on Remember 11.
There are a total of 277 or 278 different choices in the game.
I have 269 of them.
Two more run-throughs of both sides yielded 2 more CGs, and a bit more insight into a couple characters.
I'll have to see if someone makes a guide on how to get each of the endings to finish this.

Again, it's very hard for me to really argue about King because I really have just never been able to get through a book and its only a few books I've attempted.
I like the man's imagination, his sheer genius. However, there are whole pages that could be ripped from the text that do nothing for the story and would never be missed. But at the same time, I do recall reading The Last Mile and the back and forth and comparison really did drive the tale. So...
I think I can concede this point though I am reluctant to do so. King is a writer. He's a very poor writer with a very vivid and exciting imagination. And you're right, Kino. I would never doubt the impact the man has had on the story community and that's why after reading your post it really did make me stand back and reconsider my opinion. Is it fair to base a whole man's career on the 1/20th of his books that I have read? I've only picked up Last Mile, Insomnia, Under the Dome, and some audio on dvd my mom was listening to that was about a car (can't think of the title). None of which I finished. ... To be quite honest, if a person came up to me and tried to call my writing career fake, even if they liked my ideas, I would be rather pissed. "Who are you to judge me. Come back when you've at least made a solid attempt to read even a single one of my books."
Still... I think of some of the passages I read in Last Mile and I cringe inside. It's like, did I really need to know who the mayor fucked when he was describing the hunt for the children? How the hell did we even get on that topic? IRRELEVANT INFORMATION!! INFORMATION DUMPING!!! - both flags were tripped.
:3 Hehe we could take this topic to the writing thread, but really, I don't have much more to say since quite honestly I've not read many of King's books.

So, all you Umineko fans, how badly shall Ryukishi troll us with Episode 8?
Sort of Ep.7 spoilers
Personally, I'd like it if he limited Shkannontrice to three personalities, but whatever.

So, is Shkanontrice confirmed? The 6th just pounded it in with the "trial of love" that I can't read it any other way - and the last line.
It's not like I really "care" just.. I am slightly disappointed unless it was pulled off in a really nice way. I mean... "oh, I was a psycho, gender confused servant" is kinda "oh... really... ....... *doesn't care*" to me.
It could still be trolling. Just how it rolls.
Personally, game 8 ultimate troll will be...there's a 9th game.

Relevant Ep.7 stuff
Well, sort of. There's no red text confirming it or anything (there's very little red text in Ep.7 at all), but it shown in white. I know quite a bit about Ep.7, but I haven't read it, so...yeah. A good amount of time seems to be devoted to it, at any rate.
As for the Erika death scene, the last line in red screams "Shkannontrice," but the entire scene read in context seems to scream "Erika doesn't exist." I don't prefer the theory myself (Jessitrice is totally where it's at), but I don't particularly mind it. So...I guess we share that sentiment.

Yes, I think it's "Jessitrice" myself. ... I came up with one theory last night... And please keep in mind I have NOT read the 7th
If it is a Shkanon theory, then I don't believe it has anything to do with Shannon... not really.
Jessica gets jealous of Shannon and George - she wants a boyfriend (and it could even be a possibility that she's in love with George). She creates, in her mind, Kanon. Maybe there was/is a Kanon at one point, but after being rejected by him in real life, she created the one in her head. But, only witches can make things come to life, so she herself created Beatrice and probably shared in the idea of "what's a witch" through her conversations with Shannon.
By the start of the game the REAL Kanon is gone, leaving only Jessica and her imaginings. But when Battler returns maybe she realizes she's (still) in love with him. This triggers the events.
I'm still working on it, obviously. Half-baked doesn't even cut it.

I figured if no one else, at least Scy will probably appreciate this.
Witch Hunt translators have released their "retranslation" of the Umineko Epitaph, supposedly making it "solvable" for english players!
