quite honestly Scy, the ending to RDR was kinda obvious even if you had no idea.
Its amazing how I had no idea of the ending to RDR given my record. I'm known to spoil the ending for myself because I'm bored or whatnot.
However, i was ignorant of the game at first and didn't buy it until about 4 months after its release and even then I didn't know the ending. And to be frank it was kinda obvious.
There is no way Marston was gonna survive all that shit, he was obviously gonna get killed, the part with his kid was a little different I guess.
However, i loved the way they ended the game. When he opened the door....damn, that was amazing.
Not really...
Rockstar games have traditionally been pretty shy at killing main characters, even if it makes logical sense (like RDR and Marston). Especially for a game that lets you run around and continue playing after the credits. It's not a hard to believe outcome (what's that? a redemption plot that ends in character death?!) but it is hard to believe that Rockstar did it for a GTA-esque game.
I'm very familiar with figuring out game plots before they resolve. I'm pretty sure everyone with an IQ above 10 does that too. Personally, it still kind of ruins the game to know it before you even start playing. There's also a difference between "I think X will happen" and knowing for certain that X will happen. You may expect the outcome but it's not the same as knowing the outcome.
Edit: Hell, I still haven't bought Heavy Rain since I know who the killer is and, well ... that's the entire point of the fucking game (that and it's not worth $60, regardless of me knowing the plot or not).
They are both so awesome. i started it up and was panicking because I thought I'd have to choose between then at the beggining. Just fantastic so far, Glad I bought it. I really need to play EOIII more, but I just can't get back into it. Hell, I bet Kino AND Maxine will beat me if I don't pick up the pace!

I still have a few days of shopping left to go. Thankfully, I get paid Monday so I can hurt my bank a little.
Kind of wished I had picked up the Amazon Visa card awhile back instead of just now; this past year of purchases would've netted me like $200 of credit >> Oh well. Guess I have next year to look forward to banking on 9% cash back, though no hilariously large purchases (unless I get another new TV for some reason) to make things better.
