Except ever since I've come here, I have started to make files naming characters after ITL members.

I've used the same names for most games, though I tend to stick to canonical naming (or any fandom names like the Persona cast). Even if it means I end up with weird names like Faroush.

I rather hate naming my own MC. That and silent protagonists. It's a little annoying

At least go the Mass Effect route and have them have a default name ("Shepard") and have them SPEAK THE LINES YOU TELL THEM.

[spoiler]And no, there's no added immersion for a silent protagonist. Have them speak what I tell them. It's not like hearing my choices said makes it feel less like I chose it.[/spoiler]

only successful silent protagonist I have seen is Gordon Freeman

god, that series fucking remastered immersion

but otherwise, it only makes me not care about the character I am playing.

I love the silent protagonist. I also love games in which they just speak gibberish with subtitles (Chibi Robo, Animal Crossing, etc) but that is because I'm weird and prefer to read than listen.

Also, on subject, I bought two books recently; Hey Senshi! (yaoi) and then the historical monograph "Viking Pirates and Christian Princes: Diplomacy and Politics in the North Atlantic" ... I've wanted this book for like 18 months and the price dropped to $3, so snagged it.

And then a delicious find: Disgaea 2 for only $1.50... no idea why. It was in a buy back I was prepping; couldn't believe my luck. Might not get to it for a while since I rarely use my PS2 anymore, but for that price I just couldn't resist.

Also I demand to know what characters, if any, I have been named for by Elysienne.

I hated Banjo Kazooie.

[spoiler]Gibberish as voice acting is like "we could've done voices but decided to be cheap and give you this instead." It adds nothing and just violates my ears.[/spoiler]

I hate voice acting. I'd rather just read, thank you. I can read faster than you can talk.
