broke down and finally bought this from the used bookstore downtown
the owner's trying to talk me into his mint set of Durants' History of Civilization, which is way fucking tempting if I had $300 to blow on a nicer set of books I already own. Mine are very hodge-podge, but it took me years to collect all 11, and I'm pretty proud of that accomplishment.
Anyway it's not as great a used bookstore as the one I used to work at, but it's the nicest I've found in Hampton Roads. I miss my old used bookstore ;__; it was so great.

I'm getting a notebook for my birthday this summer, but the most a decently-priced one can handle is 2 gigs of ram, and they're sold with only one gig. They all running some shitty demo-operating system, so they can get away with having that little ram. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers...
