As far as badassery goes, florentining is the coolest fighting style in my opinion. Useless on a battlefield, but good in a small fight. Although, 90% of the time sword ad shield is better anyways.
But pros use baseball bats, yoyo's, and slingshots, so whatever man.

Badass: arm shield, gauntlet and short sword on each arm/hand.
Larger shields feel cumbersome to me. Same with longer swords and polearms. But of course, as has been pointed out, it's generally more about the skill of the wielder than the weapon itself. And context.

Dual-wielding is always badass.

@skill of the wielder
Even though this is true, there are certain weapons made to take out other weapons easier. A dual-blader can do next to nothing against a spearsman but parry the thrust to the side, andtry and get in close. But there is a major handicap for the swordsman. And an archer against a spearman is the same thing. Skill of the wielder can't always make up for certain weapon pairings.

Sure, some combos are natural counters to certain other combos, assuming the skill of the opponents is comparable (and I guess it'd have to be one on one with no other stuff going on, just to keep this controlled.) A lousy pike or spearman can still be pwned by an expert dual-blader.
As for arrows, once you get into high-speed, ranged weaponry, the game kinda changes a bit.

Nothing is more badass than BARE FISTS.
Come at me with whatever weapon you want. Just you watch. I will punch your face in and cram your helmet down your throat.

What Zelda taught me that Deku Sticks are more powerful than swords.
at least it worked against the first boss in OoT

how did I not even know this was out?
I went to Portsmouth today, and visited my old GameStop at Victory Crossing. I was just talking with the guy about Rune Factory, and he was doing the nice-but-salesman-y "did you want anything in particular?" thing. And then he's like "Well, the new Professor Layton came out today"
and I'm like, "Yes. I will take that."
It was kind of cute, his first reaction was "Wha-really?"
And then when he scanned my Power Up card he was like "Oh, I sold you Etrian Odyssey 3!"
;___; awesome GameStop guy, I forgot how much I like you. The guys at the GameStop near my house are total douches. They act like it's a Boy's Club and treat me like a silly girl who shouldn't mess with the Big Boys' toys. Like I don't want to drive to Portsmouth every time I want a new game, but I might fucking start. Awesome GameStop guy remembers me and suggests games I like.
