^_^ But Scy, usually your praise is something like "meh... great play BUT this and this and this and this and this did not live up to my expectations. Great game, though. I'd recommend it."

TitS is one of the few game titles where you actually have not gone on and on and on about its many flaws. This is like Scy-nese for "gushing".

a Vita and Touch My Katamari.

The games I'm really excited for don't come out till next month and the month after, but pre-ordering netted me a free memory card, so yeah.

The game I'm most looking forward to is Gravity Rush, I got to play the demo, and I liked it a lot.

Also the Vita is apparently region-free from what I've read, which is nice, I can still import my handheld games.

Also, I'm hoping Tales of Innocence R gets localized, though I'm not counting on it.

Iria was one of my favorite characters in Tales of VS.

Oh I have no problem with you "nitpicking" and I agree with your attitude. Everything should be laid out. No secrets.

However, the idea I was trying to get across - the problem I have with your reviews (though not a big issue, I just find it funny) - that your reviews are disproportionate. I can understand some games do have more criticisms than compliments, but I sometimes think that you spend so much time on the negative, you forget the positive.

You mention a few, but, again it comes across as "Item 1 is good, Item 2-8 is bad. The game is good. I recommend it."

That to me is like "????? there's that much bad... wow, that Item 1 must be REALLY good to be able to balance things that much."

^_^ I hope I got my point across. Anyways, I just mentioned it in humor, not because there's a problem It's just "Scy-nese". I've accepted it.

I like to think that anything I don't mention was good and doesn't really matter for bringing it up. I just don't like lavishing praise after praise as it sounds ... insincere? Not sure if that's quite right but I take far more stock in "game has problems but it's worth playing" than "game is amazing, go play it."

Also, flaws aren't necessarily bad things, just things I note. I tend to not care too much about them and mostly bring them up if they're points of contention for others. I'm pretty easy to please in the grand scheme of things and I care more for enjoying myself than basically anything else.

I guess I always just assumed that the notion of recommending the game meant the flaws aren't big deals (or the game does something so well that the flaws are insignificant); that that was a bigger deal than the actual list of complaints.

Additionally, It's not really forgetting the positive but that I just don't really like listing them. Again, I take more stock in the words of someone discussing the flaws of something and finding it great in the end rather than someone talking something up and finding it great. Due to that, I'd rather just bring up the problem areas instead of pointing out the good stuff. That and, damn, my negative vocabulary is so much better than my positive one.

That and I can't help but think of gushing over a game == building hype == easier to be let down by it.

The thing with Luke is that he's whiny. He's really, really whiny. However, he's whiny by character design so it FITS. The mere fact he has an actual character reason for being whiny is so great instead of the normal "this character should complain about shit," that gets assigned to the archetype. He's completely foreign to the outside world so his spoiled whiny self works so well.

As a bonus plus, the synopsis are written from his perspective and serve as his personal diary entries (for story reasons, this makes sense for the distinction) so it's nice to see his actual take on things.

A bit more spoilery but nothing specific: .

Also, I <3 Tear. I have nothing else to add here.

Well, I just got off of the Tartarus, so I probably do not have much credibility, buuut...

I like that Luke, given his circumstances, is human. He feels like the most human character. He speaks the things that I, as the player, as a person, is thinking. Eg. Mieu is annoying. Eg. Killing is wrong. Eg. This place is probably boring. He is ignorant and his dialogue is written realistically based on someone who has lived a sheltered life. You are correct in that it is essentially justified whining. I have never found him annoying at all, and I could certainly say that I genuinely like his character. I am thankful that you had mentioned his journalizing prior to me playing this game, as I find myself checking with each and every event to see what Luke makes of it.

So far Tear seems to be boring, but she seems to be withholding much (just like every other character amirite?) so I will give her some time. Aside from Luke, though, I think I like Jade.

I like Luke too, even though he's whiny, he's not annoying.

I didn't think I would like him at first, since he kinda got on my nerves in Tales of the World, but he's better in his own game.
