Re: Recent Purchases Thread
Probably going to pick up an Ice White 3DS from Amazon.co.jp, along with the SQIV accessory set.
Even from Play-Asia, a 3DS alone with shipping would run me over $230, whereas getting one from Amazon.co.jp (free shipping) via a proxy service would put it in the $175-$190 range, which personally, is far more appealing.

Ice white, you say? This is incredibly tempting... I prefer white electronics myself (my DS Lite and phone are both white).

Cold Sleep (novel)
Although the two sequels, Cold Fever and Cold Light, are tragically out of print. Goddammit. Cold Fever JUST went out of print, like, two weeks ago, so there's still one in the warehouse for me to order. Cold Light... will just have to go on my ever-expanding wishlist for out of print manga/novels. Sigh.

Ninten - Only two of them? The first three Monkey Island games are very good. The fourth apparently was a bit of a flop.

Re: Recent Purchases Thread
For those of you paying attention, this is the same mangaka that did The Color of Love.
Incidentally I found out that Sublime (the new Viz imprint for BL titles) is licensing His Favorite by Tanaka Suzuki, who did Menkui. I'm wary of it since the art is wonky (do some googling, you'll see it at once) but I did so love Menkui. Hm.
Also purchased:
The Bitter Taste of Sweet Oblivion by Jordan Castiglione Price
Love & Wrath by Kaseka Nvita
and ordered:
The Starving Years by Jordan Curfew Price

Re: Recent Purchases Thread
This week I bought:
- A new router (Sitecom WLR-4001) to handle my home network now that the ADSL modem/router's been retired. Gigabit ethernet is nice for the new fiber internet, which might be able to use >100Mbit/s, and this thing should be able to handle IPv6 with just a firmware upgrade once the internet switches to that.
- New storage for my PC, a 128Gb SSD (Crucial m4) and a 2Tb HDD (WD Caviar Green). The SSD will hold the OS and programs, the HDD the home dir. The Caviar Green is only 5400RPM, but that will hopefully make my system a little quieter than the current two 500Gb 7200RPM HDDs. The slow speed should be offset by the SSD. I'm not sure yet what I'll do with the current HDDs once I've moved my data.
- A new video card (Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 6790), which is rather beastly for me (it needs two power connectors!). I've noticed some annoying tearing in 3D scenes, which this thing should be able to eliminate. There's also the prospect of Steam opening up for Linux later this year, which I'd like to look into and would need better graphics for.
- A shiny pretty cute notebook (Sony Vaio VPCCA4E1E/P). You could argue that it is overpriced and underpowered, but how can you say no to this cuteness?
Doesn't that just beg you to take it home with you? I couldn't resist it, so now I can visit ItL not just from my desk, but also from my bed or couch. And look totally fashionable at it too. I think I'll name it Momo.
