It doesn't really have a deep story or anything, but the concept of an anime musical with Daft Punk music is fun, and there are some catchy songs.

^_^ So I'm incredibly happy in my life right now.
I got my income tax return and decided to treat myself really nice.
I purchased a PS3. Now, if I hear the tired argument of why not 4 (my family keeps saying it, and even Rissa is mocking me that I'm still a gen behind)... geez, I dunno, because not backwards compatible, it had a cheaper price tag (sorry this was a splurge enough), and the library of games I want is pretty damn extensive (when we were standing in the store facing the two shelves, there was very little comparison and me and Rissa both agreed ps3 was definitely the way to go right now).
^_^ It was a delight to stand there with my sister while we struggled with figuring out which games we wanted more. Was only going to purchase 1 game, but it was so impossible we purchased two. I picked Tales of Xillia and she picked Witch and the Hundred Knight. We spent an hour trying to make our decisions. o_o;; Gah! So many games I wanna play!
And then we got forced into a third one because the store I went to only had ps3 bundles. At first we were going to get stuck with Lego Hobbit, but then the woman came out with the last of a Last of Us bundle. So, I have a third game as well. Neither Clarissa or I have bothered with it, yet. She has more tolerance for fps's than I do. I'm probably never going to touch it and (I'm sorry, I'm saying this) ironically enough I do NOT like the art which YES I KNOW every single person in the world and their mother thinks the art is the next best thing to godly creation. Which makes me really annoyed when I'm playing my Tales of Xillia came and go online to look up things and I'm thinking "my god breathtaking graphics" and people are putting it down. Meh, fuck you. I don't give a damn. Clearly my perceptions are skewed from everyone else's.
^_^ I'm so in love with my game. I spent all yesterday playing it when I got off work and I'm looking forward to enjoying the hell out of it. Everything about it is so drool worthy. I've watched Rissa playing her game and that looks drool worthy, too. She's thoroughly addicted to her own game. Currently Rissa is head deep in her college studies (she's studying to be a psychologist of some sort, she hasn't decided yet) so she's completely immersed in that so since Wednesday when I made the purchase we have not run into a serious conflict of who gets to play. Sharing has always been an issue for us ^_^;;
Anyways! Feel free to recommend some games to me. I LOVE jrpgs.
:3 I've already got my preorder down for Hakuouki: Stories of Shinsegumi which comes out on the 6th. <3 That sexy game is so mine. <333
Can't wait this Sunday when we go to the flea market. I know several frequent vendors that sell discounted ps3 games. Can't wait to look to see what they have.

The Last of Us isn't an FPS, or even a shooter, it just has shooting. It's a survival/adventure game with a great story.
If you like JRPGs, get Ni no Kuni. You probably already know about it, but either way, it's exactly what you want, even if you've played the 3DS version.
Tales of Graces F is around. Eternal Sonata is also a popular one.
Try Atelier Rorona. Some people say it's boring, but if you like it theres a lot more games in the series to play.
Nier and Resonance of Fate are pretty well-made games but a lot of people have problems with them, same with FF13.
Demon's Souls (from Atlus) and Dark Souls (from Namco) are technically JRPGs, but they might not be the kind you are looking for.
That's all the major stuff I can think of, since my favorite JRPGs of that generation were actually on Xbox and Wii.

American PSN offers a wide array of affordable RPGs and other games originally released for Playstation and Playstation 2. While many of them can be played on PSP or Vita, I believe that some require PS3, and others are better suited for larger monitors.

I have spent about $800 CDN in the past few months due to a mid-life fashion crisis.
Previously I have had a wardrobe exclusively consisting of rather form-fitting black, dressy, attire. It has been this way for the majority of my life, and I don't plan to get rid of any of this stuff.
On the other hand, I have always had a thing for earthly colours and patterns. It's probably silly to dress the way I did during the summer. Now I have some healthier options.
It felt very awkward at first. Feels weird to put it on, but then I look into the mirror and everything is alright. The reception from strangers has been better than previously. Which has never been particularly bad, I might add, so that does not matter too much.

@Maxine: I also bought a PS3 very recently, and if you want a good RPG get Valkyria Chronicles. I haven't played it yet, but number 2 was one of the best strategy games I have ever played and I know most people say that the first was much better.
OT (spoilered for length):

@Maxine: If you have another member of the family who wants to play The Last of Us, I recommend watching them play if you can. I haven't played it but I've watched two others play through it and it is FUN to watch. Well, "fun," is perhaps an overly cheerful sounding adjective. It is by no means a feel-good type of game. It's riveting, at any rate. I loved the storyline and the dynamic between the two main characters and the plot twists and the gameplay I observed. Completely worth playing for the soundtrack alone.
Lately, I've been buying dresses... and actually wearing them. They're way more comfortable than pants and I've been getting compliments on them, which is nice. It's also nice to walk around and not be painfully self-conscious about my legs/whole body in general as I would've been if I'd tried to wear this stuff a few years ago.
