I felt like adding some jazziness to my evening yesterday, so I went and got these while I was downtown:
... and now I'm caught up with both Bet.e and Sophie Milman's releases. I highly recommend those two. William Parker does improvisational stuff... and hmm, "Scrapbook" is a bit too spastic for my tastes, unfortunately. Probably not the most eccentric album I have in my library, though.

I don't really like jazz. I don't hate it either, but I just can't direct any feelings toward it. I mean, it's good as a backdrop or something that's just playing as you go about your business, but I can't listen to it for pleasure. It's too calm and sometimes I don't feel there's an actual direction in it, sort of like a pond with the occasional ripple.

but jazz for pleasure, I would listen to something along the lines of BING BAND
