I sometimes use my 32" as my primary monitor and I don't find it that big of a deal. That and resolution is the issue, not screen size. Also, I have a TB internal and have had no issues with as of yet. Just want more to replace my laughable 80s I have left still. Oooh, maybe a 3rd monitor...that'd be nice.
Anyway Black Friday so picked up a bunch of stuff I missed recently or found to be really cheap. Nothing outside of games though due to lack of need otherwise. We'll see if anything worth grabbing on Amazon's deals next few days I guess.

It's not that I don't like to learn about how fucking hot lava is or how old dinosaurs are or how old the planet is or any of those million other strange facts, but, trying to sit through HOOOOOOOUUUUUUURSSSSSS of some long program with an annoying narrator listening to facts I already know with MAYBE the chance of learning something new... doesn't appeal to me. I don't mind reading a book: flipping a few pages and skim reading is easier than attempting to fast forward.
In the program's defense, I'm sure there are a lot of wonderful photography and shots that I would love to make as computer wallpapers. As Scy said, "it's pretty". But even that is not enough to appeal to me.

Well, Maxine, I feel the need to jump in here and defend a few things. Not sure how much you're aware of the series, but:
Each volume features 1 type of terrain and explores it across the globe. The first episode, Pole to Pole covers everything, but then you have: Mountains, Freshwater, Caves, Deserts, Ice Worlds, Great Plains, Jungles, Shallow Seas, Seasonal Forest, and Deep Ocean.
Seasonal Forest, for example, starts at the Taiga of the North, like Siberia, and talks about the trees themselves but, more importantly, the type of animals that live in the boreal forest. The main focus of the series is the animals that live in the different habitats. The visuals are, of course, utterly stunning, but arguably if you don't love nature porn as I do than you'd find it boring.
Some scenes, however, like the Snow Leopard chasing its prey over ice and rock, down cliffs and up, are simply mesmerizing. They use exquisitely techniques like super-super-slow motion to capture the frame-by-frame lunge of a shark out of the water, and capture some things that have never been seen before (afore mentioned Snow Leopard chase).
Anyway. I love it.
