What's really fun about volume 3, though, is what you realize near the end:
They really didn't care about the Iris hunter. The whole time, Toru and Hijiri were just working to dispel the butterflies on Kuga, and that was all.
Also, from back in the omake for volume 2(?): [hide]"Why wasn't I born a woman...!?"[/hide]

The omake was adorable, even if it was kind of weird seeing Toru like that. In fact, all the omakes have been kind of a pleasure to read.

There's a few other small details that were nice:
Volume 1 intoduces the symbol for Tokita's Iris as well as his character, even if it's all of like one panel (trying to invite Kuga to join him for the school trip). For that matter, the entire main cast (...and Tokita) have their Iris symbols revealed on the chapter 1 title page.

To add to that, the school trip also introduced Kuga and hints of her Iris from her leaving after witnessing Koyuki's reaction to Kuga's introduction as "being invited by Toru." Plenty of ways to take it so it's hard to land on emotions (and, well, it's an-oh-so-typical scene that being genre savvy is enough to figure it out) but it was nice.

I'd like to note Hijiri's Iris would freak me out. When we're shown his vision to the about to die Kuga or Satsuki ... that image of them smothered in black butterflies is just haunting.
I think it makes Toru adorable, actually. It's always nice when characters have a hobby outside whatever it is they normally do in the series.

It was weird going to it from TWGOK, though, as Keima hates sweets and Toru is the opposite.

Sadly I dont read manga as much anymore. I really like anime more but there are a few series I follow. But sadly it is usually for the art not content. I love sgt frogs art style but havent laughed at the plots in a while. Sadly were I live manga is the generic sellers you would expect to see. I would usually go to the local bookstore but I have been as far as Indianapolis and slim pickins and storeclosins. I might just have to start buying online again.

Zeta look cute fillies.

So anyway, picked up two new serieseses.

Beelzebub - Otherwise known as Aishiteru Baby meets Tenjou Tenge.
Or something like that. Basically, our main character, Oga, is a delinquent (at a high school with a delinquency rate of 120%!!!!) that finds a baby that ends up being the future King of Hell. He's tasked with raising it and blah-blah-blah.

Honestly, I tried to think of what to say here as to why I'm reading it still and I can't, really. I mean, most the characters are shallow so far. Hilda's design is great but she's literally done nothing of note in 5 volumes and Aoi is pretty cliche. Oga is over-the-top villainous (with a heart of gold for baby Be'el ... occasionally) and Furuichi seems to exist solely for snide comments and jokes.

Then again, the manga seems to be rather self-aware (title is a pun, there's a moment early on with a bizarre, fantastical tale that has the main character's friend/Furuichi remark "Are you mocking your readers?!", and, hell, they even parody Dragon Quest's "BUT THOU MUST" at one point with a villain's heel face turn), so maybe it's intentional and I'm just missing the joke (or is it thatsthejoke.jpg?).

It's made me laugh a few times at some outlandish stuff and, really, the premise is just rather bizarre. The art is so-so but it cleans up super nicely after awhile (probably around Toujou's appearance?). But, it's still fairly typical "battlesssssssss" ... well, maybe? Most of them have been pretty simple non-dragged out affairs but it's billed as a battle manga and it's shaping up that it should be one so ... I don't know.

Plus, Hilda's design is cute, though she really seems to be there to fill the hot blonde quota.
Dengeki Daisy
It's billed as a seinen but I'm only two volumes in and it doesn't seem like it yet, really. Basically, our main character, Teru, lost her only family (brother) before the start of the story but everything is o-kay~! as she has her digital pen-pal buddy Daisy that will always be there for her.

It seems pretty typical "guardian angel watching over you oh wait he's right there that's a shitty disguise" storyline. It wins points for taking a technology angle what with "Daisy" being an online handle of the guy and some of the tasks he performs being computer related (basically billed as a hacker) rather than ... oh, wait, he does typical physical confrontations too.

There's hints of some depth behind the death of her brother as being "more than meets the eye" and I hope it does as it looks like there's at least 10 volumes of this and, honestly, it could've ended as a one-shot/volume. Seems interesting based off the premise but I'm not too terribly sure if I'll continue reading it yet. Maybe I'll let it sink in a bit.

Also, more stories in general need cool janitors.
Started reading The World God Only Knows, since you kept going on about it.

It is enjoyable.

I'm now eight volumes in to TWGOK and two volumes into Shin Angyo Onshi, and loving them both. It's been a while since I've had a manga I really enjoyed, and now I have two! :D

Started reading Kimi ni Todoke, which is good for a shoujo manga! Especially because both the main girl and the main guy are adorable. It's got a good supporting cast and steers away from long, depressing drama, so hurray for that, too!

Started reading Change123. It's largely fanservice, and would be a guilty pleasure if I could still feel guilt. Some interesting fights, cute scenes, and good supporting characters, though.

And the main character's guiding moral compass is entirely quotes from kamen rider. All of them.
