Unless they fixed it, the English manga was pretty abysmal, though I guess it might be better since Viz got it in like 2004. Though it still uses Case Closed and the localized names. Anyway, at the rate they're going (volume every 3 months), they'll catch up to right now in something like 8.5-9 years?
The DCTP did a damn good job in going back and fixing up a lot of the earlier releases with better quality scans and new translations. The quality of the recent releases are damned good. If you don't mind going that route, anyway.
Also, I just realized the anime is already up to the Minerva arc. How the ... how the fuck?

Mmm, might use that. Still so different.
DCTP's version says the screams were accidental in Silver Witch. My old translation didn't mention anything being involuntary, which fit the scene in the car better, with the deep inhalation and so.
Old translation also had the guy note that the cop hadn't taken the plate number rather than "the cop looked stupid", which seems like a risky assessment. I should compare the original some day.
Also going to browse around for something german before I decide.

My translations don't have either the involuntary or the "He looks stupid" remark (though, honestly, the cop is pretty stupid). It's, word for word:
Shriek:
"When I drift without pulling the handbrake, I'll scream out without noticing, I feel as though I can only turn properly like that! It's a little embarrassing..."
It's worded a bit poorly since it's supposed to be a "I'll let out a scream that doesn't bother me" kind of thing. i.e., her yelling doesn't phase herself. But, yeah, the prior inhale and the "it's a habit" wording makes it pretty obvious it's not accidental.
As for the license plate line, it took me a bit to find the one you were talking about >> I'd have to check the original but I'm pretty sure it was basically just insulting Officer Yamamura. And, to be fair, him being called stupid is basically something that happens in every appearance he has.
___
In other news, just noticed some new scans for Psychometrer Eiji came out. Too bad it's only up to volume 14, though (of 25). I'll never know how this ends

And I quite enjoyed the gruesome killers of it alongside the detecting parts of it. Oh well.

Yeah, it is Yamamura after all.
For some reason, Soul Eater Not scans seem to have disappeared in some places. Even one site that still has the main Soul Eater. (That would be tenmangas.com.)

So, I fully caught up with Skip Beat (c177). I have no pictures of dem shoulders or anything, just my thoughts.
And because I'm a dirty rotten liar:
Shoe-in for the next Twilight saga.
Not really a spoiler (I mean, it shows off a Kyouko role) but spoiled mostly due to it being poster size and I expected it to break horizontal scrolling.
Edit: Oh yeah, also caught up on Nana to Kaoru, but any images I'd post from that would probably be 99% NSFW. I say, though, the existence of the Arashi series makes me sad since that means . Goddamn

Edit: Forgot derp. Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa started up finally.
And ... another ecchi romcom from Kano Yasuhiro. Eh ... oh well, whatever. The idea of the mirror world is ... interesting, I guess, but I can't really see this as a long drawn out plot affair like Mx0 could've been (or Pretty Face was) without it getting mindless. As long as there's a resolution I'm fine with it all, I suppose.

Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa ch2 - Of course, a misunderstanding is necessary because otherwise this whole love-love plot could have been resolved by the end of the first night. Oh well. Romcoms have some weird hold on me and I must watch/read it to the bitter end...
Edit: I will say that the fact that Satomi is getting her fair share of Kano Yasuhiro's strange faces is refreshing. Typically, the female lead is played pretty straight with maybe something minor going on (Aika's laughing fits, for instance) and it's just the male lead and side characters that react to things. Satomi has had more than her fair share across two chapters.

finished up vol.1 of Lotte no Omocha.
It was certainly the last place I would have expected to see a trans-gender catgirl put a stereotypical pretty boy to shame XD
