My parents are very caring and I love them
except that they don't really trust me and I can't have internet in my room, and my mom gets really mad really easily. Everything is fine besides that and I am grateful

I usually avoid these kinds of topics, but I feel the need to rant a little so...
Anyway, If I hear another christmas carol, I am going to kill someone (or myself)! This is why I hate christmas time, these bloody things are everywhere. I shouldn't have to wear headphones whenever I want to go down the street (or leave my room at home, damn not being able to afford to live alone) to prevent me from bashing my head against a concrete wall. Why does everybody insist on playing these stupid abominations of music (if you can even call them music) 24/7 all december!? At least have the decency to play the slightly less garbage metal/techno cover versions.
What's even worse is they often play those increadibly stupid "Aussie" christmas carols, which are full of untrue stereotypes about Australians (like that we spend our summers having barbaques and eating pavlovas) and stupid Australian "slang" that I've never even heard anybody say outside of these songs and American movies.
</rant>
Sorry to subject you all to that, but I get really pissed off about this crap, and over the years my tolerance to it has been worn away to almost nothing.
Oh, and on a brighter note, I find it absolutley hilarious (although a little annoying) whenever I see an "Aussie" depicted in an American movie or TV show. WTF is that accent?! We soud absolutley nothing like that. Oh, and ditto above for the "slang", on one episode of NCIS (don't normally like crime shows, but the group dynamic is really good, which is one of the most important factors to me, and Gibbs is hilarious) some Australian witnesses (I think they were witnesses, I don't really remember) actually said "they're the ridgey-didge mate"! What the hell is that?! I'd never even heard of that phrase before, and nearly fell out of my chair when I heard it! I just hope that Americans don't really think of us like that...
