@Zamisk in a bookstore
you will quickly learn to alpha, or die trying
also get ready for people to expect you to read their mind and know what book they want, despite them not knowing the title, author, or even really what it's about. "I read about it in the New Yorker. (you mean your Aunt Susan told you about it, and she heard about it on NPR. Same difference) Oh, it's very new, came out only maybe 2-3 years ago. (in bookstore terms, "new" means the last 2 months. Also this could mean it's out of print, or it actually comes out next year). It's got a red cover. (it's actually blue) I'm pretty sure it's by John Wilson (nope, it's by Veda Therarhchchfgzzz, translated from Esperanto by Janus Van Wilkerson) I think it's called "Man's Own Nature" or something like that (it's actually called "Nurturing the Male Self") etc etc etc
Oh but make good use of that employee discount! That's one of the best perks of the job.

DINKs foreverrrrrrrr *high-five*
@Book discount
my discount here is 30%, whereas my discount on books at my old job was closer to 40% (usually 10% above cost, and book discounts are usually 46%-50% so, yeah, roughly 40%) -- and I got a small discount on DVDs and games. It used to be 50% used discount, which was insane, especially on used video games. But old job was evil corporate and slaughtered everyone's souls and stripped back most of the good discounts. At the used bookstore I worked at, my boss usually wouldn't let me pay for books -- I could just take whatever I wanted. I usually slipped the money into the drawer when she wasn't looking. I mean, she'd only charge $3-4 for completely awesome history books anyway.
@Maxine
At least it's only 2,000 images. It could be worse.
COULD BE RAINING IMAGES
My complaint is that, having been sick for a week, the dishes and housework have stacked up. My husband is going around doing that super obnoxious "we need to clean" biz, which always means "YOU need to clean" because he sure as hell isn't going to do it.
