Sirth, let me clarify some things with Cabal:
You can turn off PvP invitations (but, yes, you are INVITED and have to accept). And you can click on anyone's name at any time to check their level. Also, if you do not want to be PK'ed, the channels that are colored prevent it from occurring. If you do get PK'ed, it's not a big deal anyways. You get sent back to the town. I can't remember if there is a death penalty, but I don't think so, and then they get points attached to them or something and they get sent to prison.
(Note: it's kinda funny. Some people purposely go to prison because they are convinced there is an exit SOMEWHERE... some have devised ways with glitching:

Then there are the the nation war zones. Certain maps allow for nation pk'ing. You get points for these kills. These maps make a point of it, so you'll know what you are heading into. And finally there is the nation war channel, where EVERY area, including the towns, you are allowed to battle people of the other nation. Actually this can be outrageously fun. Most of the time it's a very silent area, but once in a while, a group of people will hop on there and they'll battle in a town for supremacy.
If you are a newbie who has no nation yet, stay out of this channel. You are fodder for both nations. :3
Another big attraction for Cabal and for me, you are, in a way, rewarded for being offline. A little marker tracks how long you've been away and you get 200% experience points until you hit the marker. T-T This is always nice for when I've not been able to get on and really wish I could be leveling up. o_O And really funny when I'm off for long stretches of time and start leveling up.
I do think Cabal's item shop is a little expensive and it pisses me off. :[ Once in a while I would like to consider purchasing something but it's just too much money and often it's a "30 day item". >_> I dunno if it's improved over the months. I mean, they did switch from being on OGPlanet to being on their own, so I guess they kinda needed to start seeing profit in some way, but SERIOUSLY?!
Again, I really don't know why I like Cabal so much. It's repetitive and sometimes frustrating with bots in certain areas. >_> But, I've seriously had a LOT of fun in it. :3 You know what, after talking about it so much now I feel the urge to get back on it.
I've got characters on both servers, but my main server with Morren is on Mercury. I'm a Blader :3
Also, one of the other more kewler things on Cabal :3 there is a Jukebox. Well, ok, that may not be that impressive at first BUT if you go into the cabal folder, and then dump some music in the "jukebox" folder, you get to listen to your favorite music easily through the game.
The ONLY thing you need to do (and I dunno if they changed this but doubtful) is you just need to convert them to .ogg files. Easy, though. There's like millions of those sorts of programs. This is the one I use:

:3 Just one of those little things that pleases me. You can then easily switch from game music to your own music at any time. Though honestly, Cabal does have some nice pieces in it. Though, again I dunno if this has changed since they were doing major updates to the UI when I left, during certain dungeons your music is turned off and it switches. o_O This was incredibly frustrating back in '08 and '09 since it would glitch and both music tracks would play. They fixed that glitch though during the move to their own servers. *phew* I was so happy.
