I prefer the smaller boxes that take up less shelf space anyway, as long as they don't pull chintzy shit like they did with Princess Tutu.
That's something I expect to see when buying blank CDs, not series compilations.

It's the same size and thickness of a regular DVD case, but they managed to fit 6 DISCS in there
