Unless there's something flat out keeping you out of your laptop's insides, Laptop HDDs are replaceable. And you can always use an external and just deal with running it through that. It's not like it won't work that way.
obligatory upgrade technology every few years bit here
Though, to be serious, it's not too expensive these days to build a mid-range computer.

Actually, that reminds me, it's been awhile since I've done anything with my PC. I guess it's time to just build a new one and shove as many TBs I can into it.
And mmm ... SSDs...
Edit: To me, all I really need out of my computer is a few good years (3-4) before it's time to upgrade and turn the old one into something that sits on the side and questions it's reason to live/becomes a media server/gets donated/hurled off a building while on fire because who doesn't want to see that?
Yeah, I'm thinking of the external drive, but I don't have $200+ to dump an another computer. And I'm no techy like you. T-T I don't even know if the BSOD I keep getting when Sims crashes my computer ('cause I suspect my video card can't handle it) is damaging my computer.
I cannot build a computer. I'm restricted to whatever Best Buy is offering at the time.
