@Desktop vs laptop: I've never liked desktops much, since I like the portability of laptops. However, my computer is technically not a laptop but a 'desktop replacement'. It is massive (it has a full size keyboard, complete with numberpad, and is almost as long as it is wide) and weighs a ton (seriously), but I get the portability of a laptop and the power of a desktop. I've had it for about a year now, but I've yet to find a game it can't run on max settings at 1920x1200 easily, and it handles day-to-day tasks pretty damn fast too.

I don't really see the point of desktops myself, apart from being cheaper. My screen is excellent, as is my keyboard. Admittedly, the speakers whilst great for what they are, aren't quite up to par with top-end external ones. On the rare occasion I need sound quality that good, I can just plug in a set of externals.

I will agree with Scy that building PCs is easy as hell. A lot easier than you would think.

@Digital vs physical: I am a collector. As such I will only download something if it is flat out not avaliable as a physical copy. My huge collection of games and DVDs looks a lot better on display on shelves than it would as a bunch of files on a hard drive. As Scy said, limited editions would get screwed over as well. I love getting OSTs/artbooks/figures/whatever with my games.

Also with a download you don't get that awesome new game smell, and I just love the feeling of getting home and tearing the shrink wrap off a new purchase as my anticipation builds and I get all excited to play/watch it. You just don't get that with a download.

Not to mention that if I had to download all my games and DVDs my monthly data limit of 2GB would dissapear in an instant.

I am at work today, and a customer comes up and asks to by a tv. Its a clearance tv so we only have the display. He says he wants it so I start to get it down. He wants it boxed. I tell him we dont have the box. So he whines about cover so I offer to wrap it in garabage bags. He reluctantly agrees. Then I go to find the papaer work and remote. Couldn't find it. So he asks if he can have more taken off the tv. I inform him we already took off 20% to cover things luke lost cords or remotes. He asks if he can see a manager so I go to get on. They dont want to deal with the customer so they ask me what I should do. I tell them we already accounted for it in the inital discount. I also tell them that we hardly make anything on our tvs. Most of the money comes from accessories. This is because we are a discout store. The manager tells me to make the customer happy. Irrate I return to the sells floor and give the guy the best expensive universal remote we had for free. Then processed the paperwork showing I got managment approval to let 30 go out the door for free. My only regret is we dont sell the hundred dollar remotes anymore. God I hate my job and the lowlifes I work and sell too.
