I guess it also depends on what you think small-talk stuff is. I view it as the impersonal generic opening line (weather, about what just happened, maybe reference to person's clothing [self or other], etc.). Anything of sustenance (i.e., this last series of posts in conversation format, for instance; maybe things from the gaming topic on game discussion, sports, whatever happening in your life, etc.) is not. Even then, if the other party is interested it's no longer really small-talk to me, regardless of subject matter.

[spoiler]"I like your hat" is such a deceptively awesome way to initiate conversation, honestly. Peacocking and all that jazz but having something to stand out sometimes just lends itself for stuff like that. Kind of why I have a tattoo easily visible on my right-hand.

Which reminds me, I still need to go to some gaming convention with it and see if anyone recognizes it.[/spoiler]

I just like hats, 'kay? They make me look nice and occasionally attract complements from pretty women. I ask, and the hats deliver.

Well, Scy's whole spiel actually is my sentiments about most of my friends. XD Only this girl and guy I'm having a fight with are two friends form before I was held back. So, they're in college and I'm in my last year of HS. *sigh*

A ton of this is really mixing a bunch of stuff I don't like about my current situation. XD

People always offer to buy my hat, but I am quite attached to it.

More on topic, I always have trouble dealing with people, I just get really nervous around anyone I don't know well.

I can sometimes manage if things happen to land on a subject I know what I'm talking about, but I usually don't run into anyone with similar interests, not that I get out much.
