Oh man now I am thinking about the epic flashbacks in PSME. Mokuren's went for like 4 volumes I think.

But, yeah, otherwise it is boring.

I'm struggling with what, if any, to use in my nanowrimo story regarding flashbacks. I probably won't use any.

if it's in the beginning then you aren't doing a flashback

which is my preference

goddamn, Wolves of the Calla was so hard to plow through, even if the flashback which made up half of the book but had little to do with the plot was in itself interesting.

Yes. The beginning is not a flashback, which is what I meant to outline.

AHAHBLARGHGH I AM BACK FROM 12 HOUR SHIFT OF DOOM BLARAEHHGHGHGH

Shift change between "mid shift" GSM and "closing" GSM is 7pm, and I'm usually the closer, so I knew that the transition between mid-shift and closing was going to be the worst part of the evening, mentally.

So I made some cup-noodles and tea around 6:45 and disappeared into the office to eat my noodles, drink my tea, and pretend that I wasn't at work.

Then at 7:15 I walked out of the office and went up front as if I'd just arrived for my shift. I picked up the clipboard with the schedule on it and was like "Oh, man, hey everyone, sorry I'm late -- traffic was just terrible. Did the other GSM already leave? Who are my closers?"

It made everyone laugh since they all knew I was pulling a double, and after that I breezed through the rest of the shift as if I had just arrived at 7pm.

Funny is it when people have an image for themselves so high and mighty, so pure and proud. Seldom can one ever admit they are homophobic. I'll take my eldest brother for example. I can understand picking up the term "gay" as synonymous for 'mediocre', 'lame' or 'unfair'. I don't agree with it but I'll let it slip. Then there's using "homo" in many of the same situations and hating on one of my few guy friends because he is gay. Then there's the "Bleck! Gross!" he gave off when watching two guys make out in a comedy skit. Though he is a very manly pride sort of person. I'm willing to slide all my chips to center table on the fact he feels insecure about his masculinity. Always has to pick the most manly option, especially around others. I can't forget when he made a public spectacle over someone taking the bride's last name upon marriage. What a loser.

I don't just discriminate that on men. I remember playing Dokapon Kingdom with a few friends and one of them was completely repulsed over the fact she would have the Princess' hand in marriage should she be the victor. I'm sure you'll be fine after you change your diaper.

Nothing new. Just been bugging me quite a bit lately.
