Megaman Legends 3 Project CANCELED




Capcom enjoys shitting on their fans faces sometimes.

Seriously, what the hell Capcom?
First Megaman Universe is canceled, then Professor Layton X Pheonix Wright cross over isnt coming being localized
THEN, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd isn't coming to America, and lastly, Ace Attorney Investigates 2 isn't leaving Japan.

What went wrong Capcom?

This was just another poorly executed announcement--Capcom kind of did walk right into this shitstorm too. I mean, you don't hype this stuff up and then cancel it... They're killing their credibility more and more.

I'm ... not sure what you mean. MML3 was announced in September, prior to the launch of the 3DS. They didn't know the system wasn't going to really sell.

On top of that, porting it to a new console now is basically redoing all the development costs. It's not like the code ports over that easily. More cost effective to cut their losses now rather than shift to a new system (say, PSP) that is also on the way out anyway.

The PSP would have been a better choice, but I still think that maybe it should have gotten a console release. It's been a Playstation game at heart and if it went to the PS3, I would have actually bought one. XD

Although the PS3's engine is probably overkill for the graphics of MML3, I think it would have been a fitting choice.

Honestly, though... Monster Hunter's bad sales--digressing because that was another thing that bugs me-- are largely due to lack of advertising. When they finally do advertise it, we get the real problem: Most American gamers can't take a hard game.

There's quite the amount of 3DS games canceled if I recall correctly.

PS3 wouldn't have really flown if only because the handhelds see a greater success; they wouldn't have gone for a console release, really. I'm actually not sure why they didn't go for the PSP from the get-go but I suppose the allure of the 3DS got them or something. I'd have to ask around.

Monster Hunter's bad sales are more because it's a game that most people don't enjoy; difficulty be damned. It controls like ass and the gameplay is rather bland if you're not into what it offers.

And, yeah, there's been quite a few 3DS cancellations (and/or just delays).
