Re: Rant/Complain Thread: BUMMER IN THE SUMMER~
People are stupid in regards to Capcom. Capcom exists to make money, if it didn't feel like there were enough people participating, then it's going to scrap products. After all, the internet says many things but when it comes down to it, so few people actually buy niche games that it's an unprofitable business model. I think it's something like 1 in 10 people who claim they'll buy something online actually do it.
It's funny when I see US gamers get upset over a few games that they don't get. Like about 5 games a year, maximum. Considering how spoilt the territory has been over the past 25 years with decent games, it's good to see them not get a couple of titles and understand how other territories work. Australia have it far worse than Europe, and even though the European Union is actually a bigger market than the States, it still misses out on a lot of good products.
The feeling of entitlement is not a good thing.

White-Ra versus Sen on one channel, White-Ra versus BratOK on another channel... so unfair.

So the new cel phone straps I ordered got here today... except it was registered mail and no one answered the door, so now I have to go to the post office and pick them up tomorrow, probably, kind of a pain in the ass.

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: BUMMER IN THE SUMMER~
The dollar isn't as weak as it was three years ago, today the dollar is about back at it's norm against the pound, which is one of the biggest markets inside of Europe. People bang on about how bad the dollar is, but overall it's better now than it was in 2008 - where it was nearly 2:1 and it was amazing. The Yen being strong is actually one of the biggest world challenges as although the dollar is an important world currency, the vast majority of business transactions for technology has some form of yen bias and therefore we are all suffering.
Besides, at least you got a response. There are so many petitions back in the day to try and get Earthbound released in the UK or Super Mario RPG that's not even responded to. The fact you get a response shows some level of customer care.
In the current economic climate, with a double dip recession increasingly likely, with the US Debt Ceiling about to be breached, the yen being overly strong but the Japanese economy struggling, the problems in Euro Zone countries with Greece, Ireland, Spain and Italy almost or about to default, the near 0% growth in countries in Europe outside of the Euro Zone, it's a dodgy time. Why run the risk? They are better off waiting and upsetting a very small, minority of core gamers. Remember, you mean nothing. It's the casual, FPS playing gamers - that's where the money is.

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: BUMMER IN THE SUMMER~
Even today you don't really get replies from Nintendo regarding Earthbound being released in the UK and Konami just ignore e-mails sent to them regarding the Mystical Ninja Series.
Social Media is easily ignored, trust me, I work for a large, international company and we have an entire team dedicated to the various social medias and they either give out half arsed replies, or actually delete comments made by users of said media. Of course, it creates a bit of a grumpy reply from people, but it's very easy to ignore people.
Fact is, a reply is a courtesy. After the amount of "Operation Rainfalls" that Nintendo have had over the years from just Starman.net alone, a reply is nice. A restraining order is probably better suited.
Not forgetting the key point - petitions, artwork, social media comments, forum comments, they are but words. Historical trends, budgets and sales forecasts are what companies are looking at, no a petition with a few hundred thousand signatures on it.

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: BUMMER IN THE SUMMER~
Is your company in the entertainment business? Fact of the matter is, all the gaming companies have some form of public face be it through Twitter, Facebook, or whatever. That's the situation of it these days for them.
Edit: How much they give a shit about them, however, is another matter entirely. I'm just saying that many of them use it in some capacity, though they're typically low-level interns or something like that. Not many actually give a shit about the position so much as a few have them just because they "should."
I was wondering whether or not Mother 3 would get brought up. There's the copyright issues for Earthbound and Mother 3 is just treated with such disregard that I'm kind of curious if NoJ kicks a puppy whenever it gets brought up.

Guess I'm ready now.
That message saying I should be a hermit said something else. There I said I had a problem with people wishing Capcom's employees had cancer because my dad was diagnosed with cancer. They said he had two years to live.
