Also Christianity has nothing to do with country, that was part of the whole fucking point of the new covenant.

Just to point out, Christians aren't the same as Christianity, and also the guy in the bottom left is the creme de la crop. He takes idiocy to a whole new level. But I digress, they are all hypocrites. After seeing shit like what those people say, I can't imagine wanting to become a Christian if I wasn't already, and if all I knew about Christianity was from those people, I'd have walked away a long time ago.

Verizon withdrew $96.22 from my checking account.
I did not authorize this.
I have never authorized any company to withdraw money directly from my checking account. I do not subscribe to any auto-payment for any of my bills -- every single bill is sent to me in the mail, and I send back a check. I know this makes me a dinosaur, but I'm alright with that.
So here's Verizon just taking money from my account. I've called twice and have been transferred all around without anyone being able to tell me why the money was taken.
What I do know is that they took the money out on Monday, the day before payday.
Thus I did not have $96.22 in my checking account.
Fortunately my credit union is awesome and they got my back in the matter, but this could have resulted in some serious financial issues for me -- overdraft fee, my rent check bouncing, etc.
And I'm still missing that $96.22 for no goddamn apparent reason.

I'm not done calling Verizon, I just reached a dead end that particular day. I have Verizon One-Bill, which means that my cellular service is bundled with my home phone and internet. So the only people I was able to actually talk with were the Verizon Wireless guys, who are ridiculously helpful (all things considered) but ultimately useless. According to the Wireless end of things, they told the One-Bill department on July 27th that Kino owes them around $111 for her cellular service, so in theory the One-Bill (home/internet service peeps) were to bundle the cellular charges with my home/internet charges and mail me a bill around the beginning of August, with a billing date of early September.
So even if Verizon got confused and was trying to auto-withdraw my August bill, the total should have been closer to $145 once my home/internet charges got bundled. Even if the auto-withdraw was only for the Wireless charges, or for only the home/internet charges, neither of those would equal the $96.22 that was taken out of my account.
It's extremely frustrating, but I'm completely willing to file fraud charges. Do you know, Starfe, if there's a way to "blackball" a company from taking money out of your account? I guess not since I still have to pay them for my service... unless the credit union can differentiate between check withdraws and however they auto-withdraw? HMMM.

The credit union can absolutely tell the difference, the only problem is that banks often have their hands tied in regards to what they can prevent. They may lack the capacity to stop only certain transactions, but every bank is different, so its worth asking. If you apways pay all your bills by check they may be able to bar ACH withdrawals completely. The situation sounds pretty strange, but unless explicitly stated in a document you signed that Verizon reserves the right to debit your account, then you never authorized them to do what they did and it amounts to a fraudulent transaction. I suspect that once you get a hold of the right person it will be corrected quickly. Now that you mention that the amount is wrong it might be that they charged you for someone else's bill. Sounds ridiculous, but it happens all the time and often just gets corrected before the customer notices. Like I said, press Verizon for an immediate refund and that they never auto debit your account again, and if they stall or make excuses or somehow refuse, file a fraud claim with your bank and theyll take it from there.
