Rant/Complain Thread: u mad?

Sigh. Yes, unfortunately, it has been too many of my male friends. People I absolutely adore, even love (in a platonic mothery/sistery way, that is). The most recent one has been particularly difficult for me to deal with, but we DID sort of date for a while... against my will, with the upfront understanding that I was against the whole thing from the start. : / The convincing A-hole talked/charmed/cajoled me into it and then couldn't deal when things didn't turn out just like the movies.

Honestly, it hurts my feelings. I'm not worth being friends with just for friendship's sake? You are denied access to my body and suddenly my mind isn't worth the trouble?

Update on Zammy's problems ect:

So the girl I hung out with today got me a $30 card to Tim Hortons for my birthday.

Well, then.

And I decided to not to contact the girl I was going to ask out, and I'll wait at the bus stop tomorrow where we were going to meet up and then be all dissapointed when she doesn't show up. And then my awesome cousin is visiting from BC and we'll play Kirby's Air Ride and drink mountain dew and mope about our respective girl problems all weekend and then I'll be fine.

Slept in and missed the first half of the day. I wa up till 4 or 5 staring at my ceiling. This is very un-Zammy like. I don't like it. Now I'm in class and I'm not getting my shit done. If I'm this pathetic now, I should hardly be considering dating

If a male friend reveals he has feelings for me, and I'm not interested, I will back off the friendship. It isn't fair of me to inflame them by trying to pretend that doesn't change anything. I won't stop being their friend, per se, but I will clamp down the closeness -- ie, no more one-on-one hang outs, now everything's a group hang out. If he's able to move on and let go, I have no problems coming back and re-evaluating that stance. I've done it before.

I'm not going to try and pretend I'm Bella and he's Jacob. There can be no "but you're my best friend!!" whining -- it's hurting him to be around you and not have you. He can't just flip a switch and kill those feelings.

But seriously, I see what you're saying and I agree- if it hurts them to hang out, that's fine, I can let it go. I've got other friends. It's just... most of the time they don't even know me well enough to have developed feelings SO STRONG that they simply CAN'T bear to be around me knowing they can't have me. Just seems so melodramatic. I get it, dude. We like the same things, share a sense of humor and I just happen to be female. YOU ARE NOT IN LOVE.

I guess I would be more understanding/empathetic if I'd had more experience feeling unrequited love/like. I generally just don't have any interest in dating, so I haven't had the opportunity to be the one given the "let's just be friends," line.
