Rant/Complain Thread: u mad?

My brain is melting into mush right now from extreme lack of sleep.

So like Thursday night my back starts killing me. I must have done something bizarro sleeping on my friends' sofa the night before. Whatever, I'm in agony, and we don't go to bed until 3am (because we were having fun, so I can't complain too much) -- so I toss and turn all night trying to get comfortable with my back.

Friday night I'm at the Easter reunion, and my cousin brought her boyfriend this year -- and, turns out, he fucking snores. So my back is killing me yet again, I can't get comfortable, and there's a goddamn snorer keeping me awake half the night.

Saturday night I can't sleep because I'm jonesing for my husband pretty bad and, just, whatever. I've moved cabins, so that helps, and when my other cousin comes to bed at like 2am or whatever we stay up whispering. Which was awesome. But it was raining, and I had to use the bathroom, so I waited for a lull in the storms and ran up to the main cabin. It starts breaking open a holy waterfall of rain and thunder and lightning, so I wait a bit and finally race back down to my cabin in the rain. Which sucks, but, whatever.

So I'm already tired going into Sunday. Now, originally, I was flying out at 5pm from OKC and connecting through Houston. I show up at the ticket counter to check in for my flight and, yeah, that ain't happening. I'm definitely going to miss my connection and, furthermore, the airline agent tells me there's no way I can get home at all that night, I'll have to fly in Monday. Fucking hell. So I tell the guy if he can get me a hotel room in Houston for free, I'll take the re-arranged flights. He tells me they'll give me a hotel once I reach Houston. I figure Houston's a better spot to be stranded than OKC since it's a bigger airport.

So I get to Houston at like 8:45 and go to the United customer service desk. The guy there tells me that I can hop the very last flight to Newark, NJ (which is scheduled to leave at 9:15) and then take the very first flight from Newark to Norfolk -- which will get me home at 9:45am rather than 1:30pm Monday. I have to be at work at 11. So I tell him to re-book me, and I take off running through the airport to make the Newark flight.

I get into Newark at 2-fucking-am and find my gate for the morning's flight. And then there's nothing to do but throw down my stuff, curl around it, and try and catch some sleep. I use my purse as a pillow (so no one can take it while I'm zonked) and loop my arm through the straps of my backpack. I've got myself wedged into a corner for some semblance of privacy. I put my petticoat over my legs so I don't end up flashing around inadvertently, zip up my hoodie, and pull the hood way down low over my face to block out the light. I'm still fully dressed, high heels on and everything, on the hard floor. It's pretty shitty sleeping arrangements, and the damn recorded announcement about not leaving your baggage unattended pops on every 30 minutes or whatever, and eventually I start to get super cold because I'm dressed for Oklahoma/Texas weather, so I'm shivering a bit and, ugh, it's just miserable.

And then these fucktard asshole entitled parents plop down into my corner, which is totally isolated and it's a complete unnecessary dick move on their part, and they start ripping open breakfast and talking and their kid's screaming, and I'm awake even though it's only 5:30am. I've gotten maybe -- MAYBE -- an hour's worth of sleep. So I stumble into the bathroom and brush my teeth and whatever before getting some tea and taking a seat at the gate again to wait.

I'm too exhausted to do much than just stare at crowd, and eventually I get on my flight. I'm tripping mad balls with exhaustion and once we hit the air I crash out for about 30-40 minutes of fitful sleep. It's a short flight at least, so I land down in Norfolk at 10am (we were delayed getting off the ground). So finally, FINALLY I get to see my husband. Turns out my luggage didn't follow me, it's still stuck in Houston. Hopefully I'll get it delivered tonight to my house.

I took Mr Kino to school and then went to my apartment to take a glorious hot shower -- I'd been wearing the same clothes for entirely too long. I change into fresh work clothes, grab my biggest tea mug to take with me, and come to work. I make it in around noon and, incidentally, throughout all of this my last meal was Easter supper at around noon Sunday -- so I've basically had no sleep and no food for 24 hours.

I did nibble at some lunch today, but I'm so weary and sick and tired and, ugh, I'm struggling. But, goddamn. I made it. I'll get to sleep in my own bed tonight.

And I totally had an awesome time in Oklahoma. But. Man. Yesterday/today.

I watched about 45 minutes of Hetalia and then crashed out for the rest of the night.
