Better not sleep now, or you might miss it! Have a safe flight and a good trip home.

cool when i ridicule concepts such as "men's rights" and then later the same day am told that my opinion doesnt matter because i'm a young white male
no, young white males are not oppressed. so if you are making that point, don't, you know, fucking oppress them
activists more like actively setting the whole movement back

Wait! "Prometheus" is used as a metaphor of "things man isn't meant to know" or whatever?
Why?
Prometheus got in trouble because he was picking on a strong retard. Not because fire turned out to be bad. That's stupid.

Just got into a yelling match with my mom, which is weird for me. Well, I basically only raised my voice and let her have it, but that's yelling for me. She's made me study for my stupid final for several hours every day and walks in the room every few minutes to monitor me, and then she kept on accusing me of not studying. I studied for hours yesterday and have been at this for about an hour, with her watching me the whole time. I got up to grab a glass of water and she peeked around the corner and glared at me. She is in full crazy-bitch mode. and I had enough of her bullshit and called her out on it, and now she's really pissed.
She left to drive my sister somewhere, so I have a few minutes where nobody is a huge idiot in my house, though, so that's nice.

Let's read Ultimate Spidey and eat popcorn.
My day has not been the best either. Nice little yelling match all because I was readin'. I feel better now because I've been rearranging my books and the house is quiet.

Yesterday afternoon I was called upstairs by my boss for a short talk. Apparently I'm sick too often, so my contract won't be renewed when it ends in a month. There's no point arguing that I have reduced my sick days by a lot in the three.5 months since I started at this department, because the decision's already been made.

So now I have one month left, contractually obligated to continue working, but totally unmotivated to lift a finger for an employer who's already tossed me out. Am I supposed to smile to my coworkers and pretend I still enjoy my work? I really did, up until yesterday's talk, but not anymore. I'm very tempted to just quit altogether. What are they going to do? Fire me? There's a one-month termination term, so that would be effectively pointless. When I mentioned that this morning, my boss said I'd then be fired on the spot (as in the case of theft or something), but I'm not sure he's right about that. I think I'll just use up the vacation time I have left (about three weeks worth) and pretend to be sick for the rest. I don't think it's fair to my coworkers (who I get along with quite well) to make a shoddy effort and leave it up to them to finish my work. Better to not be there at all then.

Damn. Just when I was feeling great about my life. Sure, it's not a super top job, but I enjoyed my work, felt like a competent professional, making enough money to make ends meet. Now I'm back to square two, unemployed and not even sure where to look for a job that I have the skills for.

The time between notice and last day can feel awkward, yeah. But attempting to quit and getting summarily fired as a response may not look good for you. Even managing to quit without getting fired is not that great from the perspective of future potential employers, given your situation and reason for wanting to quit. Best to let the contract run its course, I think, and try to finish your last month on at least a non-negative note.
This is certainly not to say that quitting a job is always bad, though. Just my thoughts on your particular case.
