So, my gay friend got mad at me, because I made a really harmless joke. There was no homophobia in it or anything. We were talking about just the usual stuff and he says, "You'll never know which way I'll swing." I jokingly replied with, "The side with the men, obviously."
Suddenly he's mad at me and hoo boy...
On top of that, people in this RP group are cutting me off with no indication as to why.

When you offend people it is usually good to apologize even when you don't feel like you should. This has served me quite well over the years. People blow stuff out of proportion, but apologies fix most everything.

*agrees* the key to any successful friendship or relationship is swallowing your pride and learning how to apologize no matter what your true feelings are.

Maybe Zeta is saying like if they know you know you then they kinda understand that "Oh, that's what they meant by that".
But I don't know...that's maybe just what I think before I try to get offended by what a person says, whether or not they meant it as a harmless comment or not. n_n
I do agree with the notion that apologizing is good if the person feels attacked or offended because it might clear up some misunderstandings

There's quite the moral difference between intentionally inflicting pain onto someone else and it simply being an accident.
I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to do that.

I don't like 'casual' insults. Insults should not be something one throws about casually (or at all really).
