Just out of curiosity, what temperature do you like to set your AC to? (Mine's usually at 76F or so.)

24°C?

That seems like you barely make it any cooler than outside. Or do you live somewhere really super incredibly hot, like 30+°C?
I think the best temperature depends on how active you are going to be. If you're mostly sitting still, 20°C is good, but if you're doing work, 18°C is better.

Well, my bedroom one is just one of those two nobs. One to set it to High Cool, Low Cool, High Fan, Low Fan, and the other nob with numbers 1-7. I have it constantly on 7 High Cool. Anything less and the AC will actually not keep it cool enough in my room, even on the days that I say I turn it off because it gets way too cold. It's a little... flopped or something electronically, I think.
However, for the downstairs... I like it set to about 66-68 roughly... a major contention between me and the rest of my family as they like it warmer and are forever telling me I like it way too cold. They typically like it 70-72. *sigh* And the worst part always seems that the days I want it on 66 are the days they want it on 72.

Note: Even the days that I was standing there thinking my AC was just not making it cold enough, my sisters were still staring at me telling me I was insane and my room was freezing. "It's not FREEZING. It's tolerable. It USE to do FREEZING.... I want it to do FREEZING."

@Kimiko We've had a few 35+°C weeks here the past month.
I generally don't turn on AC unless it gets over 85°F (30°C). At this moment it's 83 and my AC is off.

I can't justify purchasing an AC unit for the 2 or 3 weeks of 85+ weather in Seattle. So I just ENDURE.
Also I drink a lot of gin. That helps.

I sleep well at about 73-75°F, but during the day I'd rather just open windows and use fans unless it's one of those crazy 90-100°F days. I keep it at 77°F, though, 'cause I'm not the only one who lives here and the other person is significantly more hot-natured than I am. I likes to be warm.
I'm told that the apartment I'm planning to move into is kept very cold by my two future roommates, so I intend to invest in many thick sweaters.

It's only really gotten hot enough to turn on the AC like twice over here, and this is right by a desert. To be fair though, it's also windy a lot so we can just leave the windows open, and then there's also this little neat cooling fan thing the city had installed in our living room we use every now and again. I guess that counts as AC, even though it's not as effective. The only real problem is that my laptop is prone to overheating now since my cooling pad broke and it's more than a little warm in my room.
