Rant/Complain Thread: u mad?

Whenever I see it written I pronounce it wrong in my head, but whenever I say it I always pronounce it correctly.

Finals are over. Geh. Lack of sleep. Visited my parents for the first time in ever and passed out there (after a steak dinner (thanks, Dad) and some wine I brought over.) Came home this morning and the amenity/pool/lounge/whatever room had a section of window-wall smashed by an attendee of an (unbooked) party held by a bunch of teens yesterday night. Cops were called and arrests were made, I'm told. I got to spend a couple hours downstairs re-programming the electronic key system. Now probably no one is going to have access to that room for any events this Christmas, because of this group. Bah.

And I have so much to do in the next few weeks it's not even funny. ~sigh~

I am so angry about work right now.

I just looked at the schedule for Thursday, Christmas Eve, and saw that I have TWO CLOSERS.

Now. Christmas Eve is the biggest shopping day of the year. We either tie or exceed our Black Friday sales. Last year we did $58K in sales. Last year I closed Christmas Eve. I had lines just everywhere. With all registers running I still had customers in the store at 8:30 -- thank sacred fuck we close at 8pm instead of 11pm like we usually do.

Now this wouldn't be such a huge deal to me except my brother works on Christmas Day, so the only time my family can get together is Christmas Eve... but if I'm at work until like 9:30, 10 o'clock than Christmas just isn't fucking happening.

I am so angry right now. I volunteered to close Christmas Eve because I didn't think my boss would throw me under the goddamn bus like this.

I'm going in tomorrow to speak with management about this situation. If they can't give me more people, than I'm just going to have to flat-out explain that video and closing duties aren't happening (Video refers to checking in and reshelving all the returned rentals, closing duties are things like taking out the trash, cleaning the bathrooms, washing the windows, restocking supplies, etc)
