Ended up having to drive my broken car to work, just so I wouldn't be horribly forever late -- as in, the store cannot open because I am not there to open it and then I get in way too much mega trouble

I'm calling the rapid-transit folks today and asking them WTF happened to my bus route

Just got back from the auto shop.

The following idiocy I cannot blame on the public transit system or other drivers. It's all me:

I was pulling in to park at a local Fedex to ship something, and got distracted mid-park, which caused my foot to forget to do that one step of switching pedals. So. Instead of easing on the brakes to stop, I simply continued to press down onto the gas, and went right into the curb. Tore the splash shield half off and killed the radiator. There was a guy inside his car in the space to my right, and he was just giving me the "heh, dumbass" look. I deserved it.

Fortunately, there was a garage about a block away, so I made my way over there, leaking and scraping.

Just under $1k. fml.

And they gave me a PT Cruiser as a loaner until tomorrow. This car is bullshit. I want my Beetle back, dammit. T-T

God I hate cars. Right now have a problem with the transmission in my mom's car. It's leaking fluid. After 3 weeks I have to put more in. I just don't have the money right now for the repair.... *worries* god... I'm being very careful because I know that this could easily turn from a ~$200 repair into a ~$1k repair. I check the fluid just about every time I get into the car. Though the three week rule still seems to be in effect.

Happens to me all the time. I never feel smart for figuring it out, only stupid for wasting so much time, and then relieved that I can move on, if the problem was a blocker.
