this is a total rant that I'm writing at 4am in the morning while I wait for my medicine to kick in. Ignore me otherwise. It's a fun story, though, and I bet Kino could relate towards the end of it XD
I've made several observations of the world since yesterday night after I got done posting.
- Even the best laid plans always go awry.
- Books will forever be my best friend.
- A tube of Blistex works wonders not only for chapped lips but also sore red noses
- It is usually just best to give in and accept the fact that you're sick rather than try to fight it.

So, shortly after I was done posting yesterday I began developing a sore throat. I've had a bad sinus infection the past two weeks and thought "oh yay, that's just what I need /irony." And soon realized as the night progressed that it was more than just a sore throat 'cause of a bad sinus infection - that I might actually be coming down with a cold.
I fought it all yesterday. Doing my best to get dressed. I didn't have work. I did EVERYTHING I could to engage in the world thinking "Ugg, gotta update... the... site...." Lord knows I hate coffee but I tried to drink it and suck it up.
After my sister came home I just gave in and went out and bought me cold medicine and just called it a night. Of course by then my nose was red as a beet (damn cheap tissues) and the puffs with lotion I bought were only helping limitedly (the damage was done). I was rubbing blistex on my lips when I thought... "...maybe... it could help my nose a little." Which it has tremendously. I swear, I felt like writing the Blistex company a wonderful thank you letter about their godsend of a product.
Now, the last month me and Rissa have been "fighting" over this book. I've mentioned that she has that Kino thing with video games were she hates me getting past her and it discourages her from playing. This also includes books. So she got this book Inkheart from the library. It's a book that's been on my "To Read" list for quite sometime. I read the jacket and for the past month that she has had this book I have had this LONGING and deep URGE to fucking READ THE DAMN BOOK!! However, Clarissa is a slow reader. Not that that's a problem. She's the type that it takes her some time to process the information that she has read, but she enjoys the book immensely. After a month she has reached pg108.
However, the urge to read this book has been tremendous. There are some books that just seem to call to you. So, yesterday we came to the conclusion that if I do not use a bookmark and I make no indication WHATSOEVER that I'm ahead of her, I can read the book.
So, yesterday after giving into the cold medicine, I ran up to my room with the book and buried myself.
:3 Now, there's a reason that it came to a head yesterday. There has never been anything more fun to me in my whole life than having a cold, taking cold medicine, and curling up with a new book. Why is that? I get a little... strange...
Me and cold medicince don't mix well. It might say NONDROWSY but I swear to fucking God I am in and out of consciousness no matter how hard I try to fight it. This makes reading a little... fun. :3 I read The Hobbit when I was sick, several Piers Anthony (his books are the funnest to read when I'm sick and on cold medicine), and a few others.
I keep saying it's fun because my poor sick, medicated brain gets confused with reality and I have some of the BEST FUCKING DREAMS EVER where I'm in one scene or another of the book.
Inkheart has been most enjoyable so far (and sorry poor Clarissa I am now on page 198) and going in and out of it in my confused and drugged up stupor has been extraordinarily enjoyable. ^_^ Particularly since most of the scenes described so far are these shelves upon shelves of books. And cute Meggie is just to die for.
Meh, ok, my medicine is starting to kick in. I'm going to go back to bed now. Hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow. -_-; Sorry guys.
