Oh, shortspear. Yeah, that's not quite the same.
But I think you're looking at having two striking points the wrong way. It doesn't mean having two points to have trouble hitting with, it means having a second point to hit/block with if it's in a better position than the first. (The second striking point of a polearm is the not-pointy end.)

We're using different rulesets though, Zam. Also, as a fencer, my style, moments, and muscles are all primary tuned toward stabbing at things. It's really easy, has good speed and better range than a slash. Also, harder to block when I'm actually in shape.

The damage rules sound the same, so, in short, if I hit them with my spear they are dead. I already one hand my jabs. They're harder to smack away than the guy twohanding his spear, because I'm jabbing at the speed of motherfucking light. Or something.
Also, I found that using a little 2 foot shortsword, single edged, with a stab tip on it, I was more effective than a guy twohanding a claymore.

Oh gosh, those are the rules? When I played they used this half DnD set of rules, where when you hit the body, it dealt damage based on your weapon, and armor lowered/negated damage, it was awful.
Also, don't you think that's a bit unfair to use trained swordplay against some of those people?

I'm just basing it on my own personal experience with lardshperes and walking sticks, but gosh, sounds pretty fun with your group.
See, at least those armor and weapon rules make sense. When I played, people would bring replica armor to use for more protection and those weighed a ton. And there were levels, and skills. You also had to say the amount of damage you dealt when you hit them, we even had hit-points.

QQ-ing cause I didn't get to volunteer at the X-Country invitational at Estancia High School because I'm not in Track anymore ;~;
What's worse is that the AP Chem teacher at my school offered his students to work there for 11 dollars an hour
and he's not my teacher :<

I was catching up on my podcast backlog during a walk this morning, and was quite surprised and saddened to learn through a post-episode announcement that Alan Saunders, the host of my favourite radio program "The Philosopher's Zone", had fallen ill and died suddenly in June.

Came to the realization that I pretty much never hang out with friends any more, particularly during summer. Then came to the realization that I don't really know how to initiate hanging-out. Not too happy about that.
