I'm barely passing English, the only core I have always just done fine in without effort. My parents just found out and game me a two-hour verbal thrashing and are deciding how to punish me. Because taking away everything I enjoy only leaves room for schoolwork, right?

Also I can't get in to universities as it stands right now. Calgary has way too many people applying and my grades aren't good enough. Also, they just made it so you can't use grade 12 French in place of a math mark, the whole reason I spent 3 years learning that shit.

Also, my parents are deciding to grab me by the balls and arrange everything in my life because of my marks, on top of whatever punishment they can dream up. So they're monitoring everything I do and calling my teachers and making me give them every mark I get back and not letting me go out with friends for the foreseeable future. And I may just lose my laptop and iPod and phone and stuff for a while, too.

On the plus hand I now have 103 issues of Walking Dead hidden away in my room for when my parents get distracted from making me study English. Tell me, for fuck's sake, how does one study English?

Zam, what is it you are having trouble with in english? Is it grammar or essay writing? I'm no teacher but ^_^ I am an english major and I would not mind ATTEMPTING to help (I'm really not a good teacher, though). Still, maybe if you post up what you are having problems with we can offer some tips?

I LOVE english. I never could understand why people do not enjoy it as much as I do. As for studying, most of the time it's about memorization as much as understanding the concepts.

Not that I've never had my share of problems with it. <_< Misplaced modifiers have always been my greatest downfall. >_> Even in my two college courses those words... written in hideous red ink... It was like ":O AFTER SIX YEARS THESE WORDS STILL FOLLOW ME!?!"

^_^ Send me your essay next time, Zam, and I'll be happy to edit or give advice. I can't promise an A, but maybe I can assist a little - at least I'm positive I can get it up to at least a 75. I do this sort of thing for both my sisters all the time. Happy to help a friend, too.

I will warn you, though. I do try to TEACH (as best I can). I don't just say "do this or this or this" I try to post reasons and actually explain what you could possibly be doing wrong.

24/7? I doubt it. Even if you were, staying alive is a more basic need than education. So go buy some groceries and make your own lunch. Then eat it during lectures.
