I don't like phones, but I manage. I think I used to be more polite, though. I was frequently noted as polite over phones, as a general trait.

Informal:
PLA: Hello, PLA.
Phone: Yes, hello, this is Phone. How are you?
PLA: As such. / Decent.
Phone: Some stuff.
PLA: OK.
Phone: Bye!
PLA: Hi.

Formal:
PLA: Hello, PLA.
Phone: Yes, hello, this is Phone. Phone wants to tell PLA thing.
PLA: Mm.
Phone: And another thing.
PLA: Mhm.
Phone: Also new information.
PLA: Ah! / OK.
Phone: Anything else?
PLA: Nope.
Phone: TERMINATING SESSION.
PLA: Hi.

I guess I don't always actually pay attention, though.


Edit: Getting my hands on FFTA2 sure is taking a while. Wonder if I'll have better luck with a Wild Arms 3.
