I am so glad that I'm not alone in being offended. It's outrageous - nothing else for it.

It's the Government's fault though. In most UK schools grammar isn't taught at all, yet they wonder why no one understands it. Thus making it unimportant to those who don't understand it, but they all live in a permanent state of confusion anyway.

I don't live in confusion though, so why should I be subjucted to such horror. Granted it is at the other end of the country, but the rapid decline will spread until I have to face the injustice of it... .

You know what pisses me off? When people write about A, B, and C but don't put the comma after B.

Oxford comma, IIRC.

Now does that person want vegetables, tomatoes, and squash? Or are they perhaps mistakenly referring to tomatoes and squash as the vegetables that they want? I don't care whether it's correct grammar or not. I care whether I can understand what you're saying. (And vice versa.)

No Oxford comma in German and they get a long just fine.
