Starfe & Trifkin: I give you my support in finding a solution and putting an end to this. I ran out of fucks to give to my ex many years ago...

@Everybody who is being nice: Thanks guys. I'm fairly resilient to this sort of thing in a mental breakdown 10 years from now instead of today kind of way, but your sentiments are much appreciated. Its nice to know that an amalgamation of semi-strangers and disembodied friends is willing to listen to my feeble complaints. I'll let you know how things work out.
(Seriously though, thanks guys)

Well, first therapist appointment is Wednesday. I'm still not sure there's anything wrong with me, but I've got nothing to lose but time, and I've been bored enough lately to not really mind that.

I've never talked to a shrink, and I never plan to. I like to keep my thoughts to myself unless they're particularly snarky and amusing.
That being said, people say that kind of thing can help with depression. Maybe if mine comes back I'll consider it.

>_>; I don't get the angst against shrinks and "omg I don't wanna talk about myself". Srsly? It's like talking to a really knowledgeable friend, but instead of them patting you on the back and saying "gosh, that sucks" they actually have something to SAY that could improve things.
<_<; There are times that I wish I could talk with one. I don't think I need meds or anything, but to just get the load off my chest and to help me decompress and put things into perspective.
Depression runs in my family. It is one of my worst fears that I have/will have it. o_O I would like to just... talk to someone to be able to manage this fear and possible diagnosis.
I ... I already once seriously considered suicide when I was younger

I'm... far away from where I was inthat place in my life, but... it's still a fear.

To be fair, I rarely talk to my friends in real life about anything other than interests and hobbies. I prefer to dump my emotions and experiences onto the internet rather than have friends bring that stuff up later and use it against me. Maybe I'll find a friend I can trust with everything one day.

That's... what a therapist is. Except they're less likely to blackmail you than the internet is and also, again, may be able to HELP. I'm going in about stress management and my long-standing problems with indecisiveness more than any sort of depression, though.

In all honesty, I have a high opinion of the profession.

Put it over in the NSFW section, then.
Though now that I think about it, virgins would still see it there.

Yeah, I agree. The reason I don't want to talk to them isn't because of some random hatred of shrinks, it's because they are a steanger to me.
