Grah, the webhosting provider for this place sucks. How can FTP show directories and the SSH not, even when they're connected to the same IP address. Their livechat sucks too, three minutes to get a "Please bare with me whilst I look into this for you..." bastards.

My guess is that it could be the FTP server has some directory aliases or something in its configuration, which would explain why you don't see them in SSH.

The crazy thing is that the directories in question have been there for months and the SSH wasn't showing this. They said they did nothing, but my session was terminated unexpectedly and then all of a sudden the directories were there when I logged back on. I get the feeling that there was a replication issue or the SSH settings weren't right.

Alll good now though .
